Waited patiently in line for 15 minutes to purchase drinks. When my turn, a friend of the bartender cut in line..bartender (Michael) said I would have to wait until he served his friends..literally...when I questioned him, he accused me of swearing at him..which I didn't...screamed that he was cutting me off and had me hauled out by security!!!!...Security, by the way, was very nice, acknowledged that I was not drunk...I had drank one beer..and called the manager for me...the manager was worthless..did nothing..refused to even talk to the bartender....What a ridiculous place. I'm not a sports fan, but this place would be great before a Seahawks game, it's so close. On a sunny day, the back is open for open-air dining. The food is consistently good - I think the best of any of the Elysian pubs. As all the Elysian pubs, the beers are exceptional. There's always a great variety, all very fresh tasting and a few on cask for those cask-lovers.

We've been to the Elysian three times and have received food that ranged from okay to really good. But the wait staff and bartenders are much more interested in socializing or smoking in front of the hotel than they are in waiting on the customers. Last night we made our final visit. We sat in the bar waiting for someone...anyone to take our order. After 18 minutes of being ignored we left. Yes, there were a few big parties in there but they were getting bad service too. The bartenders were leaning against the bar chatting - even when we went up to the bar to give them our order they were too immersed in their conversation to come over. We did get a slight nod...like I'll be with you when this story is over. There were three waiters having a smoke in front when we left. Its always bad service but we usually get waited on/. We went to FX McRory's and made a point of comparing the two experiences. We were greeted at the door, our waitress was super nice and took our order in three minutes. We were enjoying a great meal in under 10 minutes. Pros: some tasty selections Cons: the worst service I've ever experienced...three times out of three tries

Elysian Fields has become a regular pre-Seahawks game stop for my family & me. Elysian opens a little later than the other local establishments-- 10am, so you don't have to get there so early to get a seat. In the ten times that I've been to Elysian, we've had great service. Food has been delivered hot and cooked perfectly within 15 min of placing the order. The server also checked out drink status appropriately and brought additional rounds in a reasonable amount of time. Of note, Elysian is not a sports bar-- though there are a few flat screens mounted around the bar (4 total, front/back/left/right of bar area). The menu is not pub grub, either-- not hot wings, nachos, etc. The sandwiches are very good, probably the thing most sports fans before a game would order. Their fries are really good-- hot & crispy and thin. Also, there's traditional restaurant seating at tables and booths, all nicely appointed. The restroom facilities are the most modern & sanitary that you'll find downtown! Overall, great atmosphere, prompt service, terrific food, reasonable prices, and right across from Qwest Field.

My boyfriend and I decided to get a drink and something to eat before we went to the Supercross at Qwest. We were originally going to go to the Pyramid beforehand, but since we parked on the north side of the Qwest field, we decided to try to find something in that area. We walked into Sluggers next door only to find the place absolutely packed, so we decided to check out the Elysian Fields next door and were seated promptly at a comfy booth. The place has a mix of modern decor with a little traditional styling. Restrooms were clean (which is a good thing when you need to use one in that area sometimes). It was warm that day so they had their "garage doors" open and seating on the patio. They were a bit busy when we walked in, but not too busy. It did take a while for our server to come to our table, but he took good care of us. The Hefeweizen they had was great - a bit lighter than most and very smooth. The chicken club I ordered was fantastic but my boyfriend's Kobe burger was a touch on the dry side. The only drawback that I thought was it seems they are a bit understaffed with waiters as the restaurant could have probably used another 1 or 2 and from the sounds of it (and the length of time it took for us to get our second pints) another bartender, especially as it got busier towards the end of our meal. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the decor and we will return the next time we go to a Mariners game or something in the area. Pros: Decor, Beer, Food Cons: Understaffed a bit

I went to Elysian Fields last summer with high expectations. I was sorely disappointed, but figured that since they had just opened, a little warm-up time was needed. Unfortunately, the service and food did not improve in the 6 months since I last visited. My group of friends and I sat at our table for almost 30 minutes before we were even acknowledged by our server and waited another 30 minutes for our beverages. It took almost an hour after placing our order for our salads to arrive, and 30-45 minutes more for our food. I ordered the Kobe-style hamburger, cooked medium. It came cold, cooked very well done (nearly charcoal in texture), and had absolutely no flavor. Our server came to our table one time on her own accord during our 3-hour meal. We had to chase her down every other time in order to get any service - and even then, she took only one person's order and blatantly ignored the other diners in my party. There are plenty of other great places to eat and drink in Pioneer Square. I'll be avoiding Elysian Fields. Pros: Beautiful decor Cons: Slow service, average to below-average food

We went with a bunch of friends to see the football game of the Seahaws because we couldn't get tickets any more. This bar is huge and has tens of televisions hanging around. Everything was focused on the game but in the mean time pitchers were served and you can get dinner too. Don't expect too much of the food, it's very plain, but the only thing that matters when you're there is the game and the atmosphere that's hanging around. Elysian Brewers is very close to the stadium so you can actually hear the fans scream. At the end of the game you better stay out of the bar because it gets way too crowded. That's when we left. But if you're all into sports it may be fun to stay and celebrate with the other fans. Cheers! Pros: Tens of flatscreen televisions Cons: Too huge and too crowded

It goes without saying that on the inside the creators mixed the right amount of updated styling while enhancing the beautiful exposed beams in this location - very Pioneer Sq. The brew master is usually there and is always willing to make a suggestion for first timers. Just like their location on Pike St, they've created another eclectic spot that's sure to become the next hot spot whether you're stopping in before/after a game or just out with friends for the night. Great food and wine selection - beer is the main attraction here though. They've got to be one of Seattle's best kept secrets! I'd choose Elysian over Pyramid any day.
