The Dome Room is located in the Arctic Building, downtown, on the corner or 3rd and Cherry. It is a banquet room that can handle over 200 people and has an antique glass domed ceiling that lights up. The dome is the highlight of the room and provides an art deco like, classy, ambiance. I had my wedding there, and with the dance floor in the middle of the room under the dome and all the tables surrounding it, you can't help but have a great time. There is also an attached area with large windows at one end that has room for buffet and extra dinner tables and a bar. I?ve looked at many different types of banquet type rooms and this one is in the low to mid price range. Arrangements are made with Tony's Catering, and you can use them as a caterer for your event or not. It gets a little pricey if you don't go with them (lots of add on charges). We chose to use them and really liked the food. Another plus is that you bring your own alcohol, which is a HUGE savings over many banquet/catering/hotel options. The feel of the room is what makes this such a great spot for weddings, parties, or banquets. I highly recommend it!

We stayed at this hotel last summer for 4 nights during our visit to Seattle. From check-in until check-out there was truly a sense of being pampered. They have one restaurant and they are also most. The restaurant will make up a box lunch for their guests, which is a nice convenience. We went fishing one day during our stay and ordered a box lunch. It was very delicious and just the right amount of food for our outing.
I would most definitely stay there again. Quality hotel in every aspect.

More
The Harborside is the best of the McCormick and Schmick locations. The "harbor" is actually Lake Union, but there are plenty of beautiful yachts to look at while you dine. The menu is huge and printed each day with a large selection of fresh fish items, ranging from the classic salmon and halibut to more rare monkfish and snapper. My husband really liked the prime rib he ordered there. Sides are usually limited to the usual starch and veggies, so your entrée is really the star of the show. However, the best feature of this place is their happy hour. M-F, 4-6pm. It is really close to downtown and has a huge parking lot. There are actually two bars, one upstairs, one downstairs. I recommend the one upstairs, as it has a view over the lake of the downtown lights and the bartender is a real Bostonian, accent and all. No drink specials, but the happy hour food menu is amazing. Items range from $1.99 to $4.99 and the portions are perfect. They offer things like crabcakes, veggies with hummus and a huge cheeseburger. Lots of fresh, semi-healthy options so you don't feel so guilty ordering that second beer.

I have been both using and referring others to this company for the past 13 years, including as a professional wedding consultant. This business, owned by two terrific gentlemen, provides delicious food, excellent quality, and service with a smile. You can either use their services at their events facility, The Hall at Fauntleroy in West Seattle, or hire them for off-site catering anywhere in the Puget Sound area. They love to be creative, will work with themes, and have many years of experience under their collective belts. They're terrific, and you can't go wrong if you want a worry-free wedding or event.

If you're trying to choose a Seattle wedding venue and are looking for something elegant and fairly economical, the Stimson-Green is a wonderful choice. We were married there on 1/1/09. Gillian Bauman, the events coordinator, is friendly, tasteful and knowledegable, and has a knack for offering her expertise without trampling on the bride and groom's ideas.
A caterer as well as a venue, the Stimson-Green is also a bastion of sanity during the wedding planning process. Couples who prefer not to complicate their budgets with multiple vendors and want to know costs up front should consider this historic property, where they will receive expert guidance and event service (including the bartender) fantastic Northwest food (which the out-of-town guests won't stop talking about - one of our few local guests even said it was the best salmon he'd ever tasted), and all the stressful little trappings (no need to rent tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware, etc.)
If you want to do an iTunes wedding, this venue is ideal; the existing sound system plugs right into a laptop and feeds into the library speaker system.
We had about 60 people at our wedding, which was the perfect number for this venue. Everyone loved it. We are getting a flood of e-mails (and even thank you notes), not only from our guests, but from our friends who couldn't make it, who are hearing all the raves from the people who were there!
If you're thinking of including the Stimson-Green on your short list of venues, do it. We really cannot recommend it highly enough. It is absolutely worth exploring; and if you ultimately decide to get married here, then congratulations on a fine choice!
Pros: Elegant, experienced, reassuring event coordinator, great food, intimate, beautiful
Cons: At some point, the party has to end.

More
Seattle Center has so much to offer, all in one central location adjacent to downtown Seattle. There's the Space Needle which is so often a must-see attraction for tourists and natives alike. Right next to that is Paul Allen's museum concept and Frank Gehry's architectural vision, the Experience Music Project. This offers a lot of music history, although I have not been too impressed with the place in general. There have been some good shows there and there's a fun bar/restaurant inside. The Center House offers a food court with all kinds of (expensive) offerings of mediocre to decent foods. There's nothing mind-blowing. It's just a food court. Down one level from the food court is the Children's Museum which is great fun for the kids! Also on the grounds is the Key Arena, where you can catch a great basketball game (at least currently), hockey games, and other shows inside. There are a number of rooms near the Key Arena where all sorts of activities go on as well as the Seattle Opera House. Then, there's the Fun Forest, a small amusement park that offers an arcade located inside of a large pavilion building that also houses bumper cars and a couple of other rides. Then, outside, you can find a carousel, a ferris wheel, a number of childrens' rides, as well as a roller coaster, a water ride, and other fun rides for the whole family. The Seattle Center grounds are used for a lot of festivals such as the Bite of Seattle and Bumbershoot which are fun to attend. There are so many things offered at the Seattle Center throughout the year that it's usually an interesting place to visit. There's a Starbucks in the food court for the caffeine-starved.
Pros: All manner of things (and I forgot to mention the Science Center which is also great!).
Cons: Parking

Come give this place a visit. Both are located at the Science Center and are basically neighbors as the walk to each theater takes about 2 minutes. Both have huge screens and comfortable seats. The seats in the Boeing Imax theater are very plush and provide a great experience. The Eames are little bit hard, but that will prevent you from falling asleep. When you find a movie you like come here and watch it, it's fairly cheap!

Piatti is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. I've eaten at many of the fancy restaurants, such as the Metropolitan Grill, and this place tops them all.
The main thing I love about Piatti is the fact that the ambiance is so relaxed and romantic. My favorite place to sit is in the room with the fireplace, because it's so cozy.
Although they have an extensive menu, my husband and I always get the same thing: Chicken ceasar salad. Sounds like a no brainer, but wait until you taste it! Whole leaf romain, awesome creamy dressing and warm grilled chicken. Hmm, I know what I want for dinner!
