I can't tell you how much we love Macrina - it's one of the best we've found in the area and few Seattleites will disagree. It's fairly easy to get to - though I'd recommend finding what you want (on their website) calling in the order and then picking it up... Sometimes what they have on-hand can go quickly.

Almost any day of the week you can find me at Verite coffee. It's got the things I love about a cafe: friendly staff, good conversation, large windows, free wireless, good pastry, fulfilling snacks, and excellent coffee. This bakery centrally located in the heart of Pike's Place Market has a wonderful display of goodies! They look amazing and the variety is enormous. This is the way a bakery should look! They have enormous Texas sized donuts, buttery cookies and coffee cakes galore. I love to pick up a dozen of assorted cookies whenever I'm there. They used to have a special of $5 for a dozen cookies, and this was an awesome deal. I haven't seen it lately, but if you see it, snap them up!!!

In the International District, this is one of the more modern appearing businesses. This is a great environment! Wide open, well lit with lots of windows. Plus, the bubble tea is one of the best prices around. Service was knowledgeable about products, friendly, efficient, and very welcoming.

If you are ever in pike market, you gotta stop by here. If you are visiting seattle, you've got to go here. They are super famous for Piroshky, which is pastries - with cheese, spinach, or ham or cinnamon. As you walk towards it, you'll smell the aroma and usually there is always a line. So soft and flavourful! Hmmm Yumm-o! Grab one Piroshky and cup of coffee from Starbucks, and you are set for lunch. They have different kinds of Piroshky, my favorite is the cheese spinach. This store is very famous and lots of news paper coverage. But they still do the business the old fashion, and never left their roots like many stores that got destroyed with fame. The owners have a really good background story to this and that just makes everything even more meaningful.
