This Peets is just a couple of blocks off Ravena and Greenlake, but is a better place to meet than Starbucks! They have big window doors that open during the nice hours, so you can sit inside but get the fresh air. There is usually ample parking and you can walk right across the street to a bench by the lake.

A classic among Seattle coffee shops. And now that they've got fully-functional and free wireless, there's no reason to go anywhere else. If you're particular to decaf, these guys have some of the best unleaded espresso in town. Queen Anne is the original, but all the locations are consistent with their products. Baristas are all great, and if you get hung up in line, try your hand at the 3-D frog puzzle.

Grand Central is mostly known for it's artisian breads, but they also make some tasty pastries and sandwiches. They have great cookies - snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, molasses, etc. It seems there is always a line, but the service is pretty fast, I think thats because they premake some of the more popular sandwiches. I believe they also deliver in the immediate area. Eat at the grand central bakery, then go check out the goods at paper cat!

This is a nice little espresso place on NE 65th St. just East of I-5. A bit bigger than the typical drive-through espresso shack, you can either pull up to the drive-through window or walk inside. Some baked good also available. Open in the evenings also.

My roommate works at World Cup and the place is a diamond in the rough. They have a really large selection of wines for sale in every price ranges, along with great espresso and fresh baked goods. They also offer free wifi and the staff and owners are really easy going.
It's a business that may be a bit off the map without a huge reputaiton, but totally deserving of your business. Check them out!

We attended the Taste of Wallingford this weekend (fun event) and saw the line spiraling out of the french bakery. We decided to wait it out and it was well worth it-the palmier (spelling?) was light and flakey and the pan au chocolat (straight out of the oven) was delish. Vietnamese/French bakery that is outstanding for pastries and cofee.

Masarisa is a nice Japanese café – their tea and cakes are great. They have a really good variety of teas that they serve, and they have really good Japanese-style cakes too. The owners seem nice and friendly. Sometimes they also host sake-tastings where you can sample a variety of types of sake.

I avoided this grocery store thinking it was sub par, but when I finally tried it, I was pleasantly surprised.
You'll find many of the health foods, organic, and non-meat products that are standard faire at QFC and the nicer Safeways.
The produce can be pretty poor, but they just started carrying organic produce which is a lot higher quality across the board.
The selection of "ethnic" foods can't be beat, it's fun to pick something out that you have no clue what it is, and see if you like it!

This is a nice cafe, and one of my favorite things about it was that they used to have little concerts here with no cover, just a one-drink minimum. There's not much room in here for shows, so it gave them more of an initimate feeling. Either they're not doing that much anymore, though, or I'm just not hearing about it.

This small, unassuming bakery tucked away in the Seahurst neighborhood of Burien is well worth a visit, but call ahead for hours.
They serve a great mix of organic foods, from to die-for pastries to yummy lunch items.
Somewhat small, it can get a little crowed during lunch and on Saturdays.
I've heard they serve an *excellent* breakfast BUT they are closed on Sundays...
Another plus is that the bakery is across the street from the baby consignment store Lollipops...
