So I know nothing about this place except that they fly in fancy H&H Bagels from NY, and that all the moms I know like to go there because it's kid friendly. Not sure about bialys, but the bagels apparently are to die for.

This cafe is a really nice place to drink tea. They have a nice selection of teas, very high quality, and they seem to be pretty knowledgeable about them too. It's not like the other places that serve you green tea from a tea bag, steeped in boiling water for five minutes... They pay attention to the correct water temperature and steeping time which is a welcome change.

Praise allah that we now have a qualified alternative to the evil green machine (not that there aren't some fine local roasteries and all) - but peet's is the gear - great flavor and complexity, and not evil to boot. If you drink coffee and want to be on the side of truth and justice, get it here.

If you're looking for a good-quality espresso...if you like a perfect foam...if you appreciate a warm, hip ambience...then Diva's is the spot for you! This location is one of the newer ones and though it's nestled in what appears to be a tiny strip mall, inside is the same Diva decor and beverage you (may) know and love. Two of my sisters own a popular coffeehouse in Colorado and the place they want to return to time and again when in Seattle is Diva's. Once while waiting for my double tall non-fat, I happened to mention my car had just been stolen and they gave me my drink on the house! Not just good coffee, but compassion as well!

The best brewed coffee/pulled espresso available in Seattle. Also the best roaster. Probably also the best place to ask any coffee-related question. Home to a recent U.S. barista champion. Vibe—an extreme informality which seems authentic rather than unctuous, though I change my mind on every sixth Thursday afternoon. This ambiguity comes from its location—Eastlake’s core—an increasingly gentrifying neighborhood which has held out much longer than, say, Fremont could. Unfortunately or not, Hines is currently (sometime mid-to-late August) being forced to relocate (I’ve heard Belltown).

Ah...a real bakery! I remember Nielsen's when it was on third avenue and I have incredibly fond memories of the place. Beautiful pasteries and lots to choose from. I am SO happy to have Nielsen's back. Everything is great. Especially anything with Marzipan.

Another eatery located in the International District, this bakery is known as the oldest Chinese bakery in Seattle. There was a nice assortment of goodies to choose form in here. All the prices are very, very reasonable. Alot of $1 items. It was hard to decide what to buy!
Their chicken bun was good, and made a convenient 'hand food'. I liked the fact that there was not alot of filler inside the bun, just moist chicken.
Service was very friendly, helpful in explaining their products, and a pleasure to deal with.

The summer of 1993, I spent every day longing to get off work and ride my bike here for the nearly perfect key lime pie. Key lime pie was the theme of that summer for me, and I tried every version I could find: Coco’s, Denny’s, Larry’s . . . that year, the one at Larry’s was voted "best key lime pie" by The Seattle Times, and it was undeniably superb, but not my fantasy. Marie Callendar’s is abundantly creamy, and topped with enough whipped cream to make every bite deliciously nauseating. The graham cracker crust is wonderfully crumbly (at its worst, kind of hard and almost pebbly, but that’s rare), and the filling so insanely tangy that I can’t believe I used to be able to eat my own large slice and then finish that of my guest. I’ve tried the pie since then—very recently—and it’s just as good as ever, but now I can only eat two bites before I want to put it away for later.

I know there are lots of Krispy Kreme devotees out there, but I'm not one of them. I'm a confirmed Family Donut addict. (And yes, that's the way they spell it on the sign; not the same as the name Judy's Book has it under.)
Family Donut is a tiny storefront in a tiny strip mall. Definitely not fancy, but it's well worth seeking out. They have a wide variety of fresh, crispy (or squishy, if that's your preference) donuts at very reasonable prices. Including my favorite -- iced, with chopped nuts.
A couple of years ago a KK opened up not far away, and I was worried my favorite donut shop would go the way of all the mom-and-pop shops driven out by the Wal-Marts of the world. So far at least the neighborhood devotees seem to be keeping it afloat. But we could use your help! It's not just a donut, it's a blow against the hegemony of huge multinational corporations...
(Yes, they're better than Top Pot too.)

More
My family loves Oroweat bread, Oatnut in particular. We eat like one bag every 2 days! But, we generally have to pay more than $3/loaf at our local stores, like PCC or QFC. The best price I'd found prior to today was 2 loaves for $5 at Costco, but that's a long trip for us.
Finding the Oroweat outlet up by Northgate mall just saved me a lot of money! Not only do they have Oroweat breads, they have buns, english muffins, rolls, etc. They also carry Cougar Mountain cookies and Bob's Red Mill dried goods (pancake mix, couscous, hot cereals), plus some other things like Entenmann's donuts and cakes.
I bought five loaves of bread plus one bag of Bob's apple oatmeal cereal for $8.55 today (6/8). The bread is marked use by 6/12 through 6/15 but most of the loaves will go in the freezer, so the date doesn't matter.
If you love this bread, you will love this outlet!
