While this place makes good desserts, they never seem to stock their best items (e.g., the pink farmhouse cookies). They suggest you order them--not exactly what you want to hear for the spur-of-the-moment purchase. They actually told me that "people come in here & buy like 10 cookies at a time & we always run out," to which I responded, well, then why don't you make more on a daily basis? No real response, other than pointing to their other lackluster cookies (which of course they don't run out of).
I removed my more positive review because of their complete disinterest in customer service. This isn't a one-time thing--more like 10 times where they are out-of-stock.

Due to the urging of two friends, I recently signed up for a pre-natal yoga class at Eight Limbs with the famous Anne Phyfe. The class itself is excellent- just strenuous enough with great stretching, learning better breathing is key and awareness of the baby is always emphasized. Anne Phyfe is AMAZING-she sends a ripple of calm through all of her students with her voice and soft touch and excellent instruction. The studios are clean and airy and the overall vibe is just plain sweet.

Really great baristas and great tasting coffee...but I love coming here just to check out the view of trains, buses, people, and architecture. It reminds me of those Richard Scary children's books where there's a million things going on at the same time. There's a great big window facing the South where you can sit for hours and watch the goings on of urban life. I love it when a train comes along entering into the tunnel.

I drive over 20 miles to get my bagels from Bagel Oasis, bypassing several Noah's and other bagel shops. And they are worth every extra mile and minute. Raised in the east they are the closest thing to a New York Bagel. Thanks.

First, the food: excellent, authentic, fresh-from-the-oven NY style bagels. Well-designed, satisfying sandwiches which always exceed my expectations. Killer deals on breakfast combos, where you get some sort of egg-bagel arrangement and coffee for a very low price. This place opens at some ungodly hour of the morning (6 or 6:30) and if you have to get an early start on a long morning, there's no better place to grab a hot bagel sandwich for road food. They also have a sunny, open dining area which is popular with the local lunch crowd, and they carry the usual required side stuff: a cooler of juices, a rack of chip bags, big cookies, and so on. They also sell their own blends of (pricy) flavored cream cheeses.
The staff is young and sweet, but always a little foggy. Maybe it's the early mornings. The line can be 5 deep, and there'll be 4 people behind the counter, and everything still moves at an unperturbed crawl. Order an espresso drink and it's like putting glue in the gears. And you may get the wrong change, but they'll be really nice about fixing it when you point it out.
It's worth it for the great food -- just don't be in a flaming hurry, and you'll be glad you came.

this is one of the coolest coffee house in the city. it is two stories, and i always sit upstairs, where you can see everything going on below, yet have a bit more privacy. theres plenty of reading and conversation going on, perfect balance of background noise and quiet. coffee is delicious, also outside seating, in case the sun actually decides to come out!
