In full disclosure, I used to work at the since-closed Wallingford location. However, as a kid I visited Imagination Toys and loved playing with the Brio train table, looking at the bins of small animal toys, driving toy cars around on the floor, and holding the stuffed animals. They have a great selection of Brio toys, Playmobil, and games, as well as several nifty craft kits. If your child likes bath toys, they have some pretty neat ones too. The staff is friendly and not pushy, so you can feel free to browse.

After hitting Archie Mcphee, we visited this store to look for a perfect gift for 1 year old boy. They carry a lot of earthy simple toys, such as wooden pull toys, something you can't find in Toys 'R' us. There is train track table and toys for kids to play while you shop. Store staff was very friendly and helpful. She even told us there were free ice cream at Ben & Jerry's that day which made our day.
