As a woman who'se in outside sales, I get SO sick of people trying to pull things over on me or wheel & deal with me. I did research for weeks on the cars I wanted...then finally went to take some test drives with a boat-load of knowledge. I met a guy named Frank at U Mazda & told him up front what I was looking at, I wanted to test drive it & then a price quote...no BS. He looked like he'd the "typical" sales guy, but I was pleasantly surprised. We hopped in a car, drove it around, he answered all of my questions & gave me a quote on the spot. The quote he gave me was lower than any of the internet quotes I had requested; even prices after MULTIPLE internet quotes...and that was his FIRST one. He also gave me advice on how I could get the options which I needed/wanted but pay less without the whole "package" deal which came with things I didn't care about. He didn't waste my time or ask me to buy that day as he knew I was selling my car first. He didn't pester me at home with calls or e-mails (only one follow up e-mail). I decided to wait three months to purchase my car & will still go back and ask for Frank because of his service & candor.
Pros: Frank, easy to find, small dealership (no lurking salesmen everywhere)
Cons: Smaller inventory & fewer used cars.

As a woman, its very difficult to find mechanics who don't try to b.s. through what your car really needs. In the pursuit of an honest mechanic I actually found Kims and he quoted me the true price and lowest price of the work I needed done. His work has always been awesome and he calls me right away to let me know whats going on. He is the best mechanic I've ever had in all the states I've lived in and I would recommend him to anyone who wants to find an honest mechanic who won't try to rip you off if you aren't yourself a mechanic. He's GREAT!

My wheel bearing was broken and I took my old car to them. They took care of my car as soon as they got parts for it and done! Price was very fair and they are very nice people. I will take my car to them again!

I am not a fan of Cleanscapes. I work for a church that, like the rest of Shoreline, used to be serviced by Waste Management. Our garbage load really varied, and with WM we enjoyed the ability to call for a pickup when necessary. With Cleanscapes, garbage HAS to be picked up weekly - we are just supposed to alter the size of our receptacle to fit our needs. Oh yeah, and recycling service is "free" (read: included in the garbage service fee). OK, not a huge deal. Now, due to financial difficulties we have been on credit hold for the past 3 months or so. However, Cleanscapes has continued to charge us for service...even though we aren't receiving any. The response I got was "We are still obligated to collect payment as per our contract with the city of Shoreline. I believe their thinking is that because you still have our carts and the account is still open we should still receive payment." This is not just poor business practice, it is criminal.

I have been going to scott sherman auto for several years. They have always been great to deal with. They provide me with a priority list of things my car needs and are honest about what can wait. I especially like the fact that it is family owned. I started going when the owner Jeremy's father owned it. I use them for everything from oil changes (which are less expensive than grease monkey ) to my big mileage services. They have always stood by thier work and recently have added a new program that offers nationwide warranty and free road side help if I get a flat tire or need to be towed. They have always gone out of thier to be accomodating they give me a ride to work or home and have even rented me a car at no cost when a part didn't get delivered the day it was scheduled. I would highly recomend them!

I am a recent Mini Cooper owner and was looking for a mechanic to trust. I was sent to Car Tender via the Capitol Hill BMW dealership - and have been very impressed! They provide excellent customer service, take time to explain services and so far, I feel they have only suggested what is needed. My take is that they are in it to develop long-term relationships with their customers. good news in a mechanic!

I was having some problems with my transmission and took it to Clary's. They figured out what was wrong with it- shoddy work at another garage and didn't charge me anything for figuring it out. Luckily the other garage stood by their work and made the necessary changes under warranty.

I found this place from an article on top rated auto repair shops in the Seattle Times. They're honest people with fair prices. On a routine oil tune-up, they discovered an oil leak that a Subaru dealership had missed! They do not pressure and they actually have this great "Car Club" deal where you buy 3 oil changes and they give you one free 15K service.
