I was stunned when i received an estimate of $950.00 from Hill Top Service on 15th Ave. E. For two front brakes for a 1972 Ford pick -up.. I shoped around and got some advise from my old retired mechanic and he suggested this auto shop. It was clean, and they were profesionals. They guaranteed their work. They Are liscensed and had my car done within one day as they said.I paid under $400. for the brake job. w/parts. Hill Top was going to charge me $400.00 just for parts! All other estimates i got were between $350.00 and $600.00(Ford Dealership)....

What appears at first glance to be a slightly upscale gas station in a decidedly upscale neighborhood turns out to offer above average service with a smile – and heart. While gas prices are gas prices are gas prices, the service part of the station has helped us out of jams on several occasions while charging little to nothing. They’ve fixed flats for next to nothing right on the spot. The manager personally poked around under the hood on the spot after we pulled over with a sticky accelerator. It took him all of five minutes to find and fix the problem (a deteriorated plastic boot that was jamming the accelerator cable), and he charged us NOTHING. Another time, when Operator Error caused us to misjudge our range and our electric car was low on juice, they allowed us to plug in and charge up. All this with aplomb and a smile. Nice, nice folks.

Unfortunately my girlfriend car was broken into, and whoever stole the stereo decided it would be fun to smash the windshield for good measure. Wind-Tech gave me the lowest quote and was out the very same day to replace the windshield. When I noticed a little water leak the next day they came right back out and corrected the fitting. They were very courteous and professional throughout.

When my brakes suddenly stopped catching I was afraid to drive and my usual mechanic is several miles away from home. In order to avoid towing my car there, I called Walt's which is right on 15th in Ballard. They got me in that morning and had an estimate for me by 11am. I called my usual mechanic to get a second estimate and it came in about the same price so I went ahead and had Walt's do the work. They were done on time and even gave me a discount on my front brakes and threw in an oil change. They are very nice people and they spend as much time as you need in order to understand what's going on.
