I've used Clinton's Auto Repair for 20+ years (starting back when Paul's dad ran the shop). They do solid work and never do more than is needed. The prices are fair and the service is fast. I never have to worry about them trying to "sell" me service I don't need.

I have been going to this place for 20 years and love their service. I trusted them fully knowing they will not take advantage of me because I ve had bad experiences with other mechanics so I do know the difference. And my car is doing great!! Now it is running for 219K!

For years now, I've taken my cars to Clinton Auto Repair and have never been disappointed in their unfailingly honest, reasonably priced service.
But if you're a super pro-active car owner, then Clinton's might not be the shop for you. (They're of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school.)
They're great for scheduled maintenance, oil changes, and solid advice. When a difficult problem arises, they won't spend a bunch of their time or your money trying to figure it out. Instead, they'll refer you to another (excellent) mechanic.

We had a good experience taking our 2000 4Runner to Clinton's for its 90k service. The check engine light had just come on as well, and they determined that the water pump needed to be replaced. (There were other signs that it was bad as well.) The guy I talked to said the engine light could be something else, but there wasn't any real reason to spend tons of time to track down something else when it may not be anything besides the water pump. Bring it back if the light comes back on, we determined.
We were told the 90k service itself could be done in a day, but when we found out there was a bit more work, we were told they might need extra time. Turns out they were able to do everything that same day anyway.
We called around to a few other shops (found on Judy's Book) and Clinton's estimates were in line with everyone else's. The final prices were right about where their estimates were.

I took my cars to Clinton Auto Repair for years before getting a Toyota Prius. I agree that one of the best things about them was that they didn't do unnecessary repairs. Also they referred me to other good businesses for repairs that weren't their specialty. They are also willing to come out and have a look at what's wrong with your car (if you stopped by) and let you know how long it would take to fix and when they can fit it in (without charging for the consultation).
I highly recommend them--friendly and honest pricing too!

The funny thing about Clinton’s Auto Repair is that Paul (the guy who runs the place) won’t do repairs that you don’t need. I brought my car in for a major service (timing belt, hoses, water pump, etc.) and the total was half what I expected to pay based on past experience with Honda Service. My car has been well taken care of and doesn’t get service it doesn’t need anymore.
