I have an 1991 Toyota Alltrack celica and when I went to the dealership they tried to charge me almost $3500 for my clutch job. That was crazy, so I had a friend told me to go to Lioe's. I got there and that place was busy. Dont go there in the mornings around 9 its a zoo people are dropping off cars and asking all sorts of odd questions. But Ken the manager was nice enough to take in my car 24 hours later. Price was half the dealership cost. Would go back again.

After having problems with my Mistubishi that another shop could not diagnose/repair, a friend recommended Lioe's on Beacon Hill. I spoke with Ken there, who seemed very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose some of the problem on the phone. I had my truck towed there and he was able to look at it within 2 days. He replaced both timing belts and some other work at less cost (parts) than another shop quoted. My truck runs great now. Their shop labor rate is about the same as anywhere, ~$78/hr, but they were more knowledgeable than other places I've been to and were pleasant to deal with.
