I LOVE this theater. The most unique in Seattle for so many reasons. They played Blade Runner last month and the auditorium was over half full! From the velvet curtains, no commercials, the sparkly ceiling, the retro decor, the very mature audience that seems to frequent this theater...everything about Cinerama is a plus in my book (Besides the seats needing to be replaced)...

The cushy retro surroundings, balcony and tiered seats, and mood lighting make for a nicely romantic setting. Plus, it has a huge screen. Great for watching epics like 300. Customer service at the snack counter is also excellent. Shows seem to sell out fast, though, so buy tickets in advance for things like premiere nights and weekends.
Pros: great moviegoing experience
Cons: downtown parking is scanty

There is no better place in Seattle to catch a movie! This place has a huge screen and it draws big crowds to every big opening. Tickets usually sell out for the opening days in advance and the line winds around the block. If you dont mind the crowd, it is so much fun to sit with so many people so excited to see the movie. My only complaint is parking. There is one pay lot behind the theater, but if you dont get there early you will have to park somewhere else.

The best theater in town and another Seattle landmark, it's known for its cinerama screen, which basically means it's larger than the competition's and slightly curved, designed for the 70mm films popular in the 50's and 60's. Refurbished to modern standards in the 1990's by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, it's in peak form today and is the place to see an event film like the latest :Star Wars spectacular.

There's a reason why you'll see huge lines of people outside of the Cinerama whenever they get a new movie: they're the best place to see them. Its the most original and comfortable atmosphere of any theater in Seattle by far, and also has the best video and sound quality in my opinion. Great place to take a date or go with buddies to see the newest action flick.

The Cinerama movie theater in downtown Seattle is the only place to see block buster action movies. I've seen The Matrix II, X-Men II and Star Wars Episode III at the Cinerama.
It's owned by local ex-Microsoft billionare Paul Allen. He purchased the Cinerama a few years ago and completely remodeled it. The atmosphere is fun. It has a really cool ceiling that looks like the night sky when the lights go down. Seats are comfortable. And being the tech guru that Paul A. is, of course this theater has all the latest technology. The sound is incredible.
Price is the same as other theaters. Location is fairly easy to reach. Parking is an issue. Especially if you chose to attend a matinee. Very popular so give yourself enough just in case there's a line to get it. Recommend using their advance purchase service offered through the Cinerama website: www.cinerama.com
PROS: Big Screen, Awesome Sound, Fun Atmosphere
CONS: No Parking, Popular (Long Lines)

this theatre only show one film at a time for there is only one screen. but for someone like myself, it is just soooo inviting because it makes me curious on the special film that it will be showing. so far, each time i have went, there have always been action film that needs an extreme large screen which the cinerama provides. the theatre is just huge, that it can seat tons and tons of movie watchers. like when i watched star wars 3, you can actually feel the action because the screen is just soooo huge.

Remember when a movie theatre had memories associated with it? When it was a place that had a special personal significance? Cinerama, Paul Allen's lovingly restored theatre is that kind of place. Every time I see a movie there I remember the great movies I've seen and the friends I've seen them with.
PROS: great sound, not a bad seat in the house
CONS: long lines for opening night!
