I recently purchased several tickets for a large party to Ride the Duck and realized that the date I had chosen was wrong. The glaring words "No returns OR exchanges" on my confirmation email taunted me (WHOOPS!). I called the next morning, which was the morning of the day I had purchased, hoping to plea with someone to let me exchange for the following date. I thought for sure that I would not be able to exchange tickets I had purchased for 4 hours from the time of phone call. I spoke with a man named TRAVIS and he was so wonderful. He helped me book the later date without question or criticism. Thank you so much DUCK! My party should go off without a hitch!

My friends came in to town last weekend and they wanted to Ride the Ducks. As a Seattle native, I thought, "No way are you going to get me on that thing! It's just for tourists!" But like a good hostess, I went along. WOW! I had a total blast! I learned a ton about Seattle and heard about places that I'd never even thought existed in Seattle! My crazy Captain was super funny and played some cool music and we danced and did the YMCA! It was awesome! Go on the Ducks! Don't forget your Quacker! Pros: Fun, family-friendly!

Ride through town and see many sites including a place where the Beatles were able to fish out of their hotel room window. Go by the Space Needle. When you hit the water, you'll see the boat house that was used during the filming of Sleepless in Seattle -- how fitting. Enjoy riding out the city then a boat trip through the Lake without ever leaving your seat. One of the best ways to tour. This is truly fun for the entire family. PROS: Two trips in one -- on land then in the water. CONS: It's so fast on land, sometimes difficult to see what is announced to view.

Ducks are WWI amphibious vehicles. They are pretty much converted trucks that can either drive on the streets or go in the water. So if you do a Duck tour, you get to both drive through the city and go in the water somewhere in/around the city as well. With Seattle ducks, they take you through several downtown areas, such as Pioneer Square, Pike Place Marker, etc. The land tour is a little too quick, you don't get to see a whole lot. Then you get into lake Union, and that part is a lot nicer, slower, and better. You get to see the Gasworks Park, the Sleeping in Seattle boat house, awesome views of downdown seattle from the water, and some other beautifual scenery. We took our mother-in-law on this tour, and she enjoyed it even though she is a little scared of water. PROS: Unique, fun land and water tour of Seattle CONS: The land part is a little too rushed.

We took our ten year old son and his friend on this tour and all had a blast! They do a really good job of interacting with the group the whole time and will have you in stiches for most of the ride. The tour which takes you through Seattle streets and ends up going for a short ride in the lake was worth every penny. Very memorable. PROS: lots of fun CONS: maybe a little on the expensive side

Go and RIDE THE DUCK! These little vehicles were once used way back during WW2 and are now 'prettied' up and used for entertainment purposes! You can find them across from the Seattle Center. The cool thing about the tour is that you get to see Seattle on the road and IN the bay! That's right! They drive around town and then drive right into the water and somehow turn boatlike! I believe they are called 'amphibious' vehicles. They go through most of the well known (and some not so well known) areas of the city, and into Lake Union. It's especially nice during a beautiful day! This is the perfect thing to do with visiting friends and family! Just make sure to buy tickets ahead/make reservations or you may end up waiting a long time for room! The captains (tour guides) can be fun or REALLY fun, depending on who you get. Some are really charasmatic and get you involved during the whole trip (don't forget your duck whistle - can be purchased with tickets). The only setback is that it is quite expensive! Adults are $23 and kids are $13, but you do get a whole hour and a half of an experience you can't have anywhere else! PROS: unique and fun experience CONS: costly

A few months after I moved to Seattle I took this tour and had a great time. It's an old boat form WWII that can sail on the water and also drive on land which is perfect for Seattle since we are surrounded by so much water. It's a great tour with a fun guide. You get to see a lot of the city and it's an open air ride with a cover so you can do it even if it's raining. Highly recommended for those who want to learn about Seattle and see the sights in a fun atmosphere. PROS: CONS: When the weather is nice, or in the summer--order tickets early!

So if you haven't seen one of these, my first question is where have you been hiding? These amphibious bus/boats from WW II have been turned into a fun tour of Seattle by road and by lake. The tour runs through downtown, then up to Fremont and into the water near Gasworks Park. Then you get to see Lake Union and some of the houseboats. Tour guides are fun, have a set shtick, and encourage goofiness. Great for kids, but beware, they will want (and I suggset you buy) a duck call. QWACK. It's a little expensive - $23 for adults, $13 for kids, but make the vacationers pay for you and you'll enjoy it. I did. It was interesting seeing everything from a tourists eyes. Loads right across the street from the Space Needle.
