The girls at the Allure are great! I love the atmosphere in the salon... Every time I go they educate me about new styles and always walk me through styles I can maintain myself... I appreciate their professional input about my hair and style, I know that they keep my best interest in mind. My hair looks great everytime and when I leave the salon I feel confident and get tons of compliments on my new style!
Pros: Outstanding service!

Guys, do you know how to dress yourself? Well us girls we know. That is why The Industry is a female owned fashion forward phenomenon. In this store you will find brands like Luca, Ben Sherman, Obey and William Rast Denim, just to name a few. If you are in the Fremont area stop by The Industry. So worth the visit to be able to stand out in Seattle.
Pros: The store is rite to the point. No endless racks and stuffy sales people. Just nice charming people and great selection.
Cons: I like to report that there are none.

More
No costume venture is complete without a trip to Display & Costume. I think they have a rental department, but they mostly cater to people like me who enjoy cobbling together their own costumes from various parts. They most recently saved my butt this past New Year's Eve by carrying fake Uzis. (I attended a James Bond-themed party.) The toy guns looked real enough that only minor modifications had to be made. Best of all, the Uzis have an awesome rat-a-tat sound effect. (NOTE: Toys R Us and other toy stores do not carry any guns other than Nerf or "ray gun"-type guns anymore because kids apparently get shot up by cops that think they are carrying real guns. Also, there's some issue with morals and teaching kids that guns are bad or something like that...)
Display & Costume is definitely a one-stop shop and prices reflect that. Some things are cheap (fake Uzis) and others are not (fabric). They have a section in the back where you can buy fabric and assorted ribbons and other fabric novelties. Mostly, the store is a haven of accessories for almost any costume you can dream up. They also carry party supplies, including more unusual items like fake palm trees for your luau-themed parties. At Christmas, they have a whole room of elaborate Christmas decorations. Perhaps best of all, the store is located near the Northgate Mall, Pacific Fabrics, and Target, so you can always stop in at those other stores if you don't find everything you need!

I shop here for my 7 year old daughter and she gets more compliments than any other child I know. At each store we can always find cute summer dresses for her and work out shirts for me. I have a hard time paying full price for anything anymore. Thanks Value Village!

This awesome little place is in the heart of downtown, next to Nordstrom. Super hip and current. Whenever I want to steal a pair of jeans from Hollywood, chances are I can find them there. This store really changed my wardrobe, and comfort level with the trends and how they can work for me.
Pros: easy access, and always new stuff!
Cons: Theres only one of them!

Buffalo Exchange is one of the better stores in Seattle for used clothes. They have a great selection that is fairly constantly turning over, so you always see new things. The prices are very reasonable, but you can get some good things here. I even got a great Kenneth Cole watch after trading in some clothes. They also have a service to donate the clothes that you bring in if they don’t buy them from you.
Worth a visit!!

Everyone who dresses well in Seattle probably knows this spot although if you are the typical Eastside matron/teen looking to be fawned over, you should stick to your regular haunts. One of the best things about this tiny place packed with beautiful and quirky designs is the service: one is never hustled, harrassed, told "how to wear things" without having asked. Nevertheless, the owner and/or sales staff know their sizes, goods and stock perfectly and are always ready to help. If you like truly beautiful clothes, fabulous shoes and always-trendy accessories this is your place.
