sleezy landlords, tenants with guns, planes flying low overhead....all around poor place to live.
i had signed a 9 month lease with the newport apartments. moving out the last day of the lease, returning my keys, cleaning out the apt and all, i find that they are trying to scam me out of another months rent because they did not know i was moving out. I signed a 9 month lease with these people and moved out after 9 months. my move was no secret as it took me a couple weeks and some maintenace help...during which i reminded them of my move. i returned my keys! they knew that my lease was up, so my question is....if they new my lease was up, knew of my intentions to leave, and saw me moving out, why then, oh why then did they not know that i would be moving out?....im stumped.

The Newport Apartments are located in Des Moines right behind Highline Community College. There are about 130 units and the complex is surrounded by trees. They offer 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments as well as a cabana, outdoor pool, fitness room, playground, hot tub, and basketball court. Not only are the apartments well taken care of and spacious the staff is also very welcoming and helpful.
