I picture the proprieter of the Admiralty House, a maritime "filled to the gills" looking antique junk shop, as a grizzled old proprietor with a old pipe and a glass eye, who gets up most mornings and cackles, "ach . . . work who needs it?" and decides to flip back over for a much needed nap. So his cool looking, seaworthy items, which look like they were lovingly collected over a long and rich lifetime, regard you balefully through thick panes of glass . . . never will you get in to have that closer look, that small caress, and perhaps that purchase.

I didn't think I'd be able to afford a leather sofa, even used, but when I saw the mauve one here for under $400, I knew it would have to be mine. The owners here were great, even delivered it to our apartment for a nominal fee. This is supposed to be a "used" furniture shop, but it feels more like an "antique" one. Except for the prices! Maybe garage sale is the term I want. At any rate, if you need anything that you don't want to fall apart and don't want to spend a bundle, check this place out!

To be honest, this is not my kind of store, but I have a good friend who sent a lot of her antiques here on consignment and she always talk about how great the selection, the place and the staff were so I went and checked it out. Now I see what she means. There were a wide range of items when I went, some of which were incredibly interesting and eye-catching. If I am ever in the market this will be my first stop.

I scoured this mall and sure, there are allot of interesting things to be had if you are willing to pay the prices they are asking which I felt were a bit much. Then I came upon the newly renovated basement and was blown away! The prices were extremely reasonable and the stuff was just what my place needed. Since then, I have haunted this joint weekly out of fear I may miss the deal of a lifetime for new stuff arrives very often. It is one of the few times I have been to a mall and encountered the dealer who was very friendly and flexible. Great Stuff, Give Me More!!!!

The service at this store is fantastic. I've gotten floor deals on new furniture. I've picked up replacement couch legs for free. And the wonderful Dave made a quick house call (free of course) to fix the buttons on my couch. They really take care of their customers.

Not to knock this place in any way, but I think of it as a good place to go when I need to buy a gift for my mother-in-law and I have no idea what to get. The owner is helpful and is about my mother-in-law's age, so maybe that's why I think of the shop in this way. Also, the store shelves are populated with all kinds of "pretties." Pretty purses, pretty business card cases, pretty kitchen items... And yet, it's all pretty in a way that is a little too pretty and too precious for my taste. Their merchandise is also kind of pricey, but aren't good gifts often the things that the recipient wouldn't buy themselves?
The store is pretty small, but has a decent number of options. In the back, there is a selection of wines and Fran's chocolates. There's also some jewelry and small glass decorative items. In the front, there's a small section of gifts for babies off to the side. Then, there's everything else.
They have a good selection of purses, ranging from purely utilitarian to beaded, silky confections. They also carry decorative objects for the home and pretty kitchen items like really nice salad servers. There are business card cases and cute little books. Standard mother-in-law fare, really.
If you're scared of dogs, beware that there are usually two tiny little malti-poo (maltese-poodle) dogs running around in the store. If they're bothering you, the owner will put them on-leash in the back of the store. You can then let your eyes flit over the shelves until you find just the thing. In the event that you don't, the store is within blocks of a ton of other little boutiques and City People's Garden Store.

If you're into antiques and the Far East, this place has a load of stuff. They're part of the Home Furnishings district in downtown Seattle, which provides access to a ton of design elements to meet just about any taste. These folks go to Asia and visit little villages to find some rather eclectic pieces. They're a little spendy, but you guaranteed to get something authentic and unique.
