I have taken three of Grisha's classes now and I cannot say too many good things about Grisha, her gentle and thoughtful approach, and her knowledge of canine behavior. Grisha is always creative and humorous--and she really gets results.
I work in rescue, and many dogs we get are frightened or aggressive. My own dogs are too. I have taken other classes and read extensively--but Grisha's well run and well organized classes synthesized it all and gave me a flexible structure to work with.
I could go on raving and raving. Suffice it so say, if I could give her 10 stars I would!

Whether you have a puppy that needs some training, an older dog that needs a refresher, a grooming service or just a pet supply store, Great Dog Shoppe is a good choice (despite the annoying extra consonant and vowels). The owner is a wiz (so to speak) with dogs and the help are great. Saturday mornings there is a greyhound get-together which is a hoot to watch - highly recommended even if you don't have a grey and are just curious. All breeds served

I have taken both of my dogs through the puppy kindergarten and basic obedience classes at Go Great Dog in Northgate. The instructors are very knowledgable, and they offer a ton of other classes and services as well (daycare, dog walking, overnights, grooming, etc). One thing to keep in mind is that a training class is only as good as the effort you put into the homework and the time you spend with your dog. Good luck!!!

Pet Elegance has redone there store a little and it really has helped add more room for more stuff! They do have amazing self serve dog washes with everything you need to get the dog clean. They have special shampoos and other helpful items, you just got to ask! They used to have there grooming under the same business but Tami is SO good that she now owns the grooming and has it under a different name, Canine Designs. There usually booked a couple weeks out so be sure to call in early! (206) 722-0967 (new number)

Having worked in auto before -- this is actually quite easy as it has more to do with the brand of the battery than the person who installs it... But only a little.
If you don't know how to install it yourself, go buy the battery from Sears or somewhere similar and ask a mechanic to install it for you.
Or, head on over to your favorite mechanic. Most will buy from NAPA or offer Diehard batteries. Those are fine. The last I read in Consumer Reports, NAPA brand batteries were fine and offered a good warranty.
If you live anywhere near Ballard/Fremont, I'd suggest visiting Superior Auto Service on Leary Way. They've been great to me and I'm confident they'd treat you well.

I've been taking my pets there for a couple years and I always feel like I get caring, attentive care for them. I especially like Dr. Mentzer. And the vet techs are really caring and professional. They all seem to really care about animals.

Central Bark is a great place to take your dog for a day of fun at doggy daycare. They offer a full range of services besides doggy day care. You can board you dog, get it groomed and even training. They separate the dogs by temperment so no need to worry about fido getting beat up. They used to have a doggy cam, but I don't think they have that anymore. You can also hold a doggy birthday party by renting out the downstairs room. This is great because you don't have to worry about a ton of dogs ruining your house. Check them out

We have one very skittish, xenophobic cat, Mia. My fiance mostly raised her, and he raised her in the same loving way he raised his other cat, but somehow Mia always seemed to be much more skittish and very suspicious of people's best intentions even to pet her. She's a long haired cat who had some bad knots and tangled hair - my fiance was convinced we needed to shave her (she would become very scratchy when he tried to comb her knots).
Thanks to Lori's recommendation http://www.judysbook.com/members/37756/questions/4165/ we found Victoria at Looking Good Grooming, who seemed to have the magic touch! Not only did she say Mia gave her no trouble, she shampooed Mia and combed out all the tangled knots, so she didn't have to be shaved! I don't know how she did it, but Mia came out smelling nice, shiny haired, with a cute bandana around her neck, calm and happy :-)
Needless to say, without all the knotted hair tugging her skin, Mia is a much happier cat now. So worth $40+tip we paid. If your cat/dog is also scratchy, they also cut nails for $5, and/or apply Soft Claws http://www.softclaws.com/ for $20, I think. Thank you Victoria, and we will be back!
