I can remember back in the day when Fat City was called “Fun Plex.” It had the look and feel of an older roller skating rink, bowling alley, and arcade. Then, about six or seven years ago, Fun Plex got its makeover and became Fat City. It’s a much cooler place now – black lights in the skating rink and bowling alley, cooler music, etc. However, last time I was there I thought the place’s new look had also started to attract more of a trendy teenage crowd, so the fallback is definitely that it has become much less of a family place than it used to be.

There is a plethora of activities at Fat City. From the ever-pervasive video games to laser tag to bowling to mini golf, this will drain your pocketbook, one dollar at a time, but the kids will love it. I had my daughter's birthday party there a few years ago (they specialize in that) and they all had a marvelous time. There's not a whole lot there to interest Mom & Dad while the pre-teens are running about, but at least you know they are safe and (somewhere) under one roof.

Fat City is an indoor amusement park. They have bowling, laser tag, roller skating, bumper cards, a foam factory and a large arcade. They also have two fast food type restaurants and a bar. It has something for every age. The bowling alley becomes 18 and up on Friday and Saturday nights. There are all day passes available and on Wednesdays, its dollar days.

I found Fat City to be an awesome place for my children. I did a birthday party for my 5 year old last year. They are very friendly and eager to help. I enjoyed the fact that there was a wide range of activities for all ages. I especially like their weekday offers and they always have coupons in the mail or in the gold c book. You should never have to pay full price, which I like. If you're a stay home mom, go on a weekday when they have a special, it's not too crowded and you don't have to spend a ton of money.

I’m in my early thirties and have actually come here to “play” with adults more than with kids. Fat City offers bowling, pool, a skating rink (yes a friend of mine had her 30th birthday at the rink), laser tag, miniature golf, etc. This place is more suitable to families with older children than very young ones. The only activity I will bring my toddlers for is the cool 3-story foam factory where kids can run around throwing foam balls and going crazy. But you still want to be very careful in there as the older kids are a little too rough on the weekends and at night. Not the big kids fault, just a side effect of all ages playing together in that kind of space. It’s a good place to go if your group can’t agree on a single activity.
