Ok, ok the view is incredible and the restaurant revolves - oh joy! You get to take about a full turn during the course of the meal. But lets talk about the food - the menu is uninspiring and the food isn't all that great, especially when you consider the price, which is outrageous at best. We don't take out of towners here anymore - it's just not worth the price, and if you want the view, just pay the $10 or whatever and go up to the observation deck.

The space needle is absolutely the most marvelous place to visit while in Seattle. It is gorgeous at night and an outstanding view during the day. The ride to the observation tower is fun too. We have also dined in their restaurant and have also have had group events in their private rooms. Everything is also tended to in a careful manner which always make a huge impression.

If you ever decide to visit Seattle, you must make a stop at the Space Needle. I've lived like 2 hours away from Seattle my whole life and didn't go there for the first time until I was 27. I've seen the Space Needle in movies but it's even more beautiful and amazing in person. You have to wait in line to get into the elevator and you CAN NOT bring strollers. This was my only issue. We had our baby in his car seat/stroller combo thing with his diaper bag and other misc crap in the bottom. We had to leave the stroller there and bring all the other stuff with us. We wish we would have known the NO STROLLER RULE. The ride up the elevator is a lot quicker than I imagined, and the elevator host gave lots of info. The view from the top was amazing. We were lucky enough to be there when there was no fog and we got to see everything. It was a little cold outside but that was to be expected. They have a snack bar up there for food and table and chairs to sit down on. The ride down is in a different elevator that lets you off in the gift shop. This is a great idea except when you have to go all the way around to get your stroller that you had to leave behind. I think the Space Needle is very cool and cant wait to go back. I think next time we'll try it at night:)

I love the space needle. Yes it is expensive but the view from there with the sun setting over the water is just breath taking. Also, the restaurant is good. We went there for Easter last year and again it was a bit expensive but the food was to die for and the view was exquisite especially since the restaurant turns you get to see all parts of the city. I think it was worth every cent.

See, the thing about Seattle is that there are more cloudy days than sunny days. Especially September-July So if you're going to the needle for the view, make sure it's a sunny day, otherwise...

See, the thing about Seattle is that there are more cloudy days than sunny days. Especially September-July So if you're going to the needle for the view, make sure it's a sunny day, otherwise you're not even going to be able to see your hand in front of your face, much less the views across Elliott Bay. The trip to the top is expensive as well. I believe around $12 - $15 a person. If you go during the clear days, the wait to get up to the needle will be around an hour, just standing in line...... I say skip the needle. Go a few blocks away to Kerry Park in Queen Anne (W. Highland Dr at 3rd Ave W.). This is the place where 99% of all pictures of Seattle are taken. You can see the space needle, downtown, the water, the islands....and for FREE!!
