Though this restaurant is pricey, it's well worth the cost for the amazing Mexican cuisine served up just a block north of the Promenade. The margaritas are phenomenal; one could make a meal simply out of those and the variety of fresh salsas presented with chips at the time of being seated. However, it would be wise to try something new here--they'll never let you down. And, of course, leave room for dessert!

Border Grill is an excellent Mexican restaurant in Santa Monica. All the food is delicious and satisfying and the atmosphere is nice too. Make sure to try a Margarita when you are there- they have a good selection of unique flavors. Prices were on the higher side of moderate. You will have a quality and memorable meal here.

Border Grill is one of the best Mexican resaurants in Southern California,and especially in Santa Monica. It's flavorful recipes can't be beat. It has a wonderful atmosphere, attentive service, colorful decor, award winning Marguaritas and service with a smile. I especially love the children's menu. It's reasonably priced and so tasty and fresh. Pricing is moderate to high, but well worth it. Enjoy!

This place always gets great reviews in Zagat's, but I dont' know - I'm not that impressed. I go fairly often because friends want to go, but I'm never fully satisified with the meal or the service. The service is slow, I always feel like I need to flag down the server for more salsa or a refill. The food is good,but just not "superb ratings in Zagat's" good. Be sure to upgrade on the liquor if you're having margarita, cause the house drinks out of the gun are terrible!
