The spa is excellent - great treatment packages and very friendly staff. The locker rooms and treatment rooms are clean and spacious. The lounge areas are very comfortable. The overall resort setting is very pretty and relaxing.
The bar in Staab House is also fantastic - the setting is rustic, but doesn't feel old. Check out the artwork hanging around the space.

A friend recommended we stay at the Inn on the Alameda for its close proximity to everything. We loved the place. It's not too big and the staff was attentive. It truly is centrally located to shopping, restaurants and galleries. Santa Fe is a fun town and I would surely encourage anyone to stay here as we had a wonderful experience.

We stayed here for three nights in April 2006. We were in the A building and had a newly refurbished room. This place offer free internet use via two computers in the lobby. They also offer a good continetal breakfast free as well. Staff was friendly. This is only a 10 to 15 minute walk from the plaza. Lots of parking. Also, they are just a short block from Whole Food so you can pick up snacks and meals. I would definately recommend this place if you want to visit Santa Fe, but don't want to blow all your money on your room. We booked through hotwire.com and got a heck of a deal!

Had a great weekend stay at the Hacienda. The rooms were huge, wonderfully decorated in local art,and the new beds were awesome.Enjoyed the comp breakfast on the patio every morning.Lots of food and great tasting.I think the Hacienda rooms are much nice than the hotel's.Didnt use the butler much but it was a nice touch.Only neg was it took a while to check in since our room wasnt ready.Front desk staff at this point was not as attentive to us as should have, like offering to store our bags.Would stay here again though.
Pros: rooms, beds, breakfast
Cons: location

Garrett's is anything but luxurious--it's really just a utilitarian motel with small, but clean, rooms and a nice sized, comfortable bar. But two things stand out about this place: It's in a great location and it's a bargain. Stop here if you're more interested in value--and more interested in spending your money elsewhere in this beautiful town.
Pros: Great location, Good value
Cons: Small rooms

i'm usually a very flexible person who is down with the inconveniences of staying at an inexpensive hotel, such as a crummy continental breakfast (cold super sugary cereal, broken waffle maker, pastries from a box, etc). what i'm not ok with, however are two major problems we encountered during our stay.
first: our room door would not stay shut- on several occasions, after closing the door, it would pop back open when another door down the hall was closed.
second: no hot water in the shower. apparently the woman at the front desk "forgot" to turn on the hot water...my question is, why was it off in the first place?
we were offered no discount or other compensation for our troubles, and i would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.
Pros: at least i wasn't homeless?
Cons: oh, so many...
