The atmosphere is cozy but classy, the service was great, the food was the best part of all! Order the elk, it's tender and not at all gamey. This restaurant was one of the best Santa Fe experiences I had on my vacation.
Pros: Wonderful food, classy ambience, good value

While spending a summer in magical Santa Fe, there is one place that my roommate and I found ourselves going back to day after day. And this is not just because we lived close by. The Santa Fe Baking Co. made us feel right welcome from the beginning. The owner Eric knew us by name from the second time in, and the whole staff was always attentive, thoughtful, and fun. It is evident that we were not the only ones that felt this way, because the place was packed all the time (often with the same faces - always a good sign). The breakfast burrito was my favorite, but they make all sorts of other breakfast and lunch items with that great Southwestern flair. They also make delicious pastries, they even picked out a different cookie than the one we had picked out to make sure we were getting the best one there! They have a juice and smoothie bar as well, and, of course, coffee. The other thing we loved about going there was the true Santa Fe feeling you get there. All walks of life hang out there, and we never failed to have an interesting experience there.

I've grown up eating Japanese. I've moved from Alaska where the Japanese was great. I have seached Santa Fe for great Japanese restaurants. Izmi sushi was okay, but I greatly favor Kohnami. It's a nice, down to earth place, with great food. I still have a few places to try, but Kohnami is the best yet, I give it a 9 out of 10 on the account the appatizer beef was a little dry.
Pros: Great Japanese, Nice Feel Inside, Good People
Cons: Waiter was too busy, apatizer was dry

My husband and I ate brunch here while on a visit to Santa Fe, and it was one restaurant that did not disappoint. First of all, it is much less expensive than we expected. Less expensive than some of the not-as-nice restaurants in town. The outdoor patio is lovely, sitting on a large deck under the eaves of a small historic chapel, overlooking a small plaza where vendors sell handmade clothing and jewelry. A white linen canopy covered most of the patio, which was decked with white tablecloths and comfy chairs. Nearby, water fountains gurgled and the temperature was perfect. I ordered a wild mushroom tamale dish which was served with delicious sauces and accompaniments, and he ordered a typical egg breakfast. The sausages were fantastic. Don't miss the chorizo!
Pros: Lovely young staff and wonderful ambience
Cons: none

The Shed has been around forever and is our standard lunch place whenever we go to Santa Fe. The wait was only 20 minutes (we got lucky), we got a great table in the back, and tucked into some super hot Mexican food. Portions are generous but a little on the expensive side. The service was great and playful - the vibe was awesome.

We dined at Trattoria on our visit to Santa Fe, New Mexico this year. It was absolutely fabulous. They specialize in Northern Italian cuisine. The service is wonderful. Price is what you would expect to pay for excellence. I think it was well worth it.
