My grandparents held their 50th anniversary celebration here in the Marriott's banquet room and it was just about darn near perfect. Everyone had a blast of a time and my grandparents were laughing and dancing all over the place. I gotta say that the part that was the most memorable that all the guests could not stop talking about was the food. The caterers at the Marriott really knew how to serve a big party. It did not taste like party food at all. Most of it looked expensive and very french. I never thought I could stomach escargot and mushy veal, but it the way they were prepared was delicious. The best was the dessert, I'm a sucker for ice cream. Sorbet au Citron (Lemon) and Sorbet Tomate à la Menthe (Tomato Mint). Ahhhh....

The most popular bread here is the cream center french roll, I do not know if that is the technical exact name, but if you simply ask the cashier for the 'bestseller,' she will know which one it is. It is a smaller version of french bread and tastes a little bit like a donut and the middle has the creamiest custard-like filling. It is delicious and only costs about $1.65. The larger pastries run higher. The cheese danishes are also fantastic.

santa clara's el camino real has plenty of korean restaurants. in this day and age, the general "mainstream" public should be more knowledgeable about korean cuisine than to think that the only kind of korean food is "korean bbq." that's such a 1980s concept to think that. that's like when people thought the only kind of japanese food was sushi! we're way past that now.
anyway, this restaurant gilmok or "corner place" in english has a great variety of food. there's a huge variety of dishes in korean cuisine (as i said _not_ just_ bbq) and no one restaurant can serve them all. when you decide to go to a korean restaurant you should decide if you want a galbijip/sootbooljip (your popular bbq joint), a soondubujip (korean soon tofu soup), a hof (the authentic korean soju/beer bar/tavern experience), a seafood place, a chicken place, whatever... the list goes on and on...
now, that being said, i'll now say that gilmok ("corner place") _is_ one restaurant that covers a greater variety of korean dishes. for example, i'll recommend the dalkdoritang (chicken leg stew) and golbaengi moochim (sea mollusk salad) here as well as the haemoolpajuhn (seafood pancake) and the galbijjim (stewed beef rib). you can't really go wrong here.
also, the management is so friendly, you'll bound to have a good time.

this is one korean restaurant i take all my guests since they offer most korean food variety that you can imagine. if you're craving meat, this is the place to go if your friends or family don't feel like meat but some noodles. the service staff is pretty friendly. they profusely apologized when my noodle soup (kalgooksoo) lacked dumplings. they even offered to make me another bowl. as you can see, i came back as usual to treat my guests to a wonderful meal. the price is decent. if everyone in your party would like to grill meat at the table, they serve all-you-can-eat-meat deals. they serve veggie dishes, grilled 'n marinated fish, various noodle dishes, and beef/pork bbq. they offer combos if you have a group who don't know what they'd like.

this cafe's recently changed its name to luce. they offer free wifi (very much appreciated since starbucks charges) 'n wonderful coffee 'n pearl drinks. i haven't tried their desserts, but they look delicious. i like how the inside of the cafe looks like someone's house. it's very comforting for some weird reason. the decoration feels like old-time european style. the server's very nice. they serve green tea latte that i found very refreshing on a hot afternoon. the music's okay on days they stay away from oldies (sorry, if you're an oldie fan!). i guess if it's not jazz, classical, or another relaxing type of music, ambiance doesn't match, imo. there's a private room in the back where you can study w/ a group of friends or a little living room area in the front where you can chat w/ your guests.

This is a normal indian type grocery store. They are basically very good in fresh meat. They sell very good quality goat, beef and chicken meat. You can have the meat in any way you want. Even you can have any kind of specific meat you want. They also sell paya. They also sell vegetables. But they are not always fresh. They have lots of different kinds of middle eastern products. Oh you can get very good dates during the Ramadan time.The owner is a very good and friendly person. I think you gonna like this place.

I love red robin for the great burgers. Tried the Five Alarm Chicken burger and just loved it. The flavor is amazing and it comes with bottomless steak fries. I love this location of Red Robin because the service here is great and the speed is fast. Great location and a lot of seating capacity. The bar here is pretty decent as well.

This store opened up very recently at Valley Fair Shopping Center. We wouldn't have known about them if they didn't have a cooking demonstration at Williams Sonoma. They are very good about providing samples of their chocolates. The chocolates come in little tins, which are also ideal for party favors and they'll personalize them for you too! I also spotted one of their products at Costco. I had an issue and their customer service is superb. I would recommend this cute shop to everyone and I will definitely go back when I'm in the area.
