Santa Clara University, a private Jesuit school and also one of the oldest schools founded in California, is an extremely good university. The communities are very close to one another (RLCs Real Life Communities) and people are able to socialize pretty well at school. The education taught there is top notch although pricey (hey its a private school, what do you expect) and concerts held there are wicked awesome, Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab for Cutie, loads of DJs here and there. The campus is well decorated and belive it or not, it is a very clean community.

More
All of our three kids went Happy Days for pre-k and kindergarten. All three had a positive experience and went on to excel in school due to the foundation provided by Happy Days. The highlight of the program is the kindergarten program and their teacher, Mrs. Bandel. They use the Lipencott series (mainly phonics based) to teach early reading. All three were able to read simple sentences by the time they left Happy Days. In our observations, more than 90% of the class could also read by the time kindergarten school year ended. Mrs. Bandel had the magical gift of getting our kids excited about what they learned that day.

Triton Museum Of Art at 1505 Warburton Ave in Santa Clara is our favorite local art museum. Our favorite exhitbition is when they have the glass show where all the local glass artistis come and sell their glass creations. Their most famous item is their pumpkin festival where they sell thousands of glass pumpkins. It is lots of fun to go to every year even if you end up not buying any pumpkins. Which will not happen.

I signed up for an accounting course here when I was pondering a future as a CPA and felt that I needed some brushing up in my skills in that subject area. The class was medium sized, but as the weeks went on it dwindled down to a smaller and smaller number of students. As for the ones that bothered showing up, many seemed to be sleeping through the class. I got a good grade, but even the teacher seemed to be bored.

We signed our dog up for the puppy class. It was by far the cheapest at $40 for a 4 week puppy class. Their other classes are $65 for a 7 weeks, also a good deal.
The puppy class wasn't fabulous, but I learned some things and my dog got to socialize. They also have the agility classes going on at the same time, so it is inspiring to see how well behaved the other dogs are!

The academics of Wilcox are quite good the teachers are friendly and know their subjects.
One thing that is a bit disappointing is that the availability of some of the extracurricular activities is based on a pay per activity which is due to school cuts in funding, and is in need of improvement.
Also the involvement of the parents is not as high as could be but that is due to their work hours.

More
Sierra School looked like an ideal school for our oldest who thrives in smaller group environments. Basically, that was the only thing going for them. There isn't much structure and in order for a student to excel, they will have to provide their own discipline and structure. The teachers are there to help and are supportive, but don't provide the structured enviroment of a standard classroom. Tuition is about average at about $10k per year for high school.
