We found this wonderful museum two years ago while taking a family vacation to Disneyland. It does get crowded, but is so much fun for the kids. We travel down south about five times a year, and my kids are always asking to go back to the museum. In my opinion it is perfect for all ages. Be sure to go to their website and look at the upcoming exhibits. Last year was Bob The Builder and my 1 year old was beyond excited. This year is the Magic School Bus. The outside Dinosaur exhibit is wonderful and lots of fun for the kids. My youngest loves sitting on the little dinosaurs and taking pictures.

This is THE worst spot we've been to in Southern California. It's overcrowded, and while that's an issue at many places, the staff is untrained in handling crowds. Be ready to have yourself and your kids pushed around, stepped on, and held up in one spot because there's no one there to keep the crowd moving out of the walkways/paths. The preschool/toddler (up to age 5) play area has no staff monitoring - there were kids up to 12 years old in there climbing on top of the equipment and jumping off. My kids, 2 and 4, got hit by a 3-year old who was also hitting other children while dad asked him to stop. Whenever one of the younger kids got to play with something, an older child would jump in and take it over. Yes, kids do this stuff, but there is no one around to keep things in order, and who wants to fight with the other parents? Be ready to have your kids wait in long lines to just see a small, simple exhibit. Be ready for kids, as well as adults, cutting lines in front of you with no one to stop them. Be ready to watch adults hogging exhibits meant for children while children wait for minutes and minutes on end. Try explaining this chaos to your small child. Why he/she can't see anything, and why after waiting their turn like asked, someone just jumps right in front of them and they have to wait even more. Besides all that, we've been to Science/Children's Museums in many other cities, and this place is a pathetic example. The exhibits are a big jumble. The exhibits crowd each other, not just the people. And though they've tried to have themes going in each area, the stream doesn't make sense. The only real exhibit is the bat exhibit, the rest is just a bunch of themes thrown together. This place isn't a museum, it's a human zoo. I consider the $30 we spent a huge waste. If there's anything to learn in there, you can't learn it because you won't get to see it. T

The Discovery Science Center has some amazing, state of the art exhibits. My kids, 3 and 6, were enthralled with the high-tech Virtual Volleyball game, and they spent hours clambering about the life-size dinosaur exhibit, which was a feast for the senses! Unfortunately, the rest of the museum seemed a bit shopworn. Many, many of the exhibits were broken or not working properly. The entire kid's area was under construction and unusable - this was a big disappointment for us, given the ages of our kids, and we were unhappy that neither the website nor the staff at the ticket booth mentioned this beforehand (they had a makeshift area set up, but it only contained a few blocks and some Legos). The crowds were a problem as well. Though it was a weekday, there were several large camp/school groups in attendance. The museum staff need more training in crowd management . . . I observed many kids crowding, pushing other kids aside, hogging exhibits and materials, etc. Overall, my kids enjoyed themselves - they love being in a place where everything is hands-on. But my husband and I were left feeling that the experience was not quite worth the price of admission. PROS: Some fantastic, unusual and state-of-the-art exhibits. CONS: Too crowded and noisy, many exhibits broken or under construction.

Not geared for the toddler especially if you have multiple todders... Slightly older children around 5+ will enjoy more than the preschooler. Fun hands on activitys but gets very crowded on the weekend. Food court is just fast food but acceptable. I'd only go if I had some type of a discount/coupon. Not worth the full price if you are paying for a family. The birthday parties are fun but not cheap... Also there is a parking charge-I believe 5.00 PROS: Good location, lots of activies CONS: Not cheap, parking charge, crowded

A great alternative to the many millions of mind-numbing attractions sprikled around So Cal. The Center just went through a several million dollar overhaul with all new exhibits and shows. The museum also hosts a number of popular traveling exhibits touring the country. The proceeds of your ticket go toward operation of the non-profit museum and other programs such as community outreach and K-12 teacher training in science. A great place to go for hours of fun and a wonderful place to make a donation to continue their numerous charity programs.

If you every drive by where the 405 meet the 5, you would noticed a big cube. Discovery Science Center is a beautiful place to look at and a great landmark. However, there isnt much to look or do inside. To me, I think all the stuffs to test, try, and learn inside is boring. Plus i think the place is too roomy and there isnt much to do in a big space. Only recommend for little kid.

This is a great place to go for all ages. This science center is clearly seen on the freeway and probably has caught your attention one time or another. It contains a lot of exhibits and things to do that will keep you completely entertained throughout the day. Well worth the price of admission.

The Discovery Science Center is a great place for kids and adults alike. The design of the building, a sideways cube, is intriguing and inspiring. There are a variety of exhibits, both a permanent collection and a periodic changing theme based series of displays. A yearlong family subscription is 90 dollars (approximately) and it is a great time for all. They do have a pizza hut and taco bell inside (corporate sponsors). It is highly recommended.

This great museum is wonderful for kids as almost all their exhibits are hands on. Children will play as they learn about physics, energy, chemetry, earth changes, dinosaurs and other aspects of science. Kids don't even know they are learning. The staff is very knowledgable about all subjects, and demonstrations are given throughout the day. Cost is minimal. You will know the Discovery Science Center from the huge cube outside. This cube, which can be seen from the 5 freeway has solar panels and provides minimal power to the museum. PROS: Kids learn while playing CONS:
