Green Parrot is located in a lovely adobe building right across from the Bowers Museum. My daughter, her friend and I came here for a bite to eat afternoon spending the morning at the museum (staff had recommended it to us). We lunched outdoors on their wonderful patio, near a large fountain. I found the food selection somewhat limited, priced a bit on the high side and not very kid friendly. Fortunately I was able to get penne with butter for the children at not too high a price, but still left disappointed with the selection. Staff was friendly but a bit on the slow side even though the restaurant was not very crowded.

We had a lunch meeting and it was a nice experience. You have the choice of sitting inside or on the patio. Weather permitting, do the patio. The service was good and the food was excellent.

Amazing feel to it and a great cafe. You dont even feel like your in the United States anymore but instead a more exotic area with a relaxing feel to it.

Housed in an old Spanish style complex with an outdoor dining area with fountains and flowers, and without seeming to be a set this restaurant's ambience is authentic old California. Contrasting with the setting the food is modern California, with appetizers such as light flaky empanadas, entrees of tenderloin of pork with cinnamon sauce, nut crusted tilapia, and a surprising vegetarian dish. The menu never becomes old as itis often changed. I like this restaurant so much that, after eating here my wife and I booked for our daughter's wedding.
Pros: great house wines, good parking, outdoor dining
Cons: , moderately expensive, closed Sat. and Sun.
