Peninsula Jewish Community Center is actually located in the midst of the Bay Area and it is the nicest JCC in the Peninsula. I belogn there - the dues are not huge (under $100 per famuly) and I get to be a part of lots of lectures and seminars. You can also sign up for the gym - but gym membership gets expansive

I am a AAA customer and really like this office. The insurance agents are upstairs, and you can have the receptionist downstairs call ahead or you can go up yourself. They put you in a queue for the next person. I've gotten my homeowner's insurance there too and our agent was really accomodating. We will definitely stay customers. My only issue was when I moved from MD, AAA didn't transfer my tickets until 1 year later, so they decided that I had 1 more year to be accountable for them, after the usual 3 year probation, so they charged me more money for an extra year.
Also, my husband bought his insurance in San Francisco and they have issues with officially transferring it to our now local office because they're worried about fraud but it is sometimes inconvenient for us.

I was happy to discover that Foster City has a free shuttle that goes pretty much anywhere in the area I need to go. The drivers are very friendly, and the shuttles are fairly timely. They only run from about 9:30 am until about 3:30 pm, but for no charge, I can get around, and not have to ask for a ride!

I don't know if it was just the cab driver who drove me that one time, but I sure didn't have a good experience with Yellow Cab. At first I chose this because I found a coupon for $10 off. So I called them to reserve a cab, making sure that I could use this coupon. However, at the end of the trip, the driver would not accept the coupon and made me pay full price. That drive was rude, careless (we almost got into an accident!) and his car smelled to. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to get a better driver, but otherwise I suggest you find another cab service.

I was unimpressed with this hotel. It looks nice from the outside and is a pretty good location now that Target has groceries (but nothing is open within walking distance for breakfast except Starbucks), but it was a bad experience overall. Many hotels these days have free breakfasts, but here you pay $13 for what you can get free at other hotels. They do have a pretty good exercise room, but a tiny pool outside. The beds are horrible - they lean, and the pillows are bad as well. I wasn't convinced the refridgerator was cold enough to keep food in it for me either. I won't be staying here again.
