I went to Dr. Goodwin after I had read that he was the voted best dentist in San Mateo by a readers' poll. I will concede that Dr. Goodwin is nice and did a good job. His office staff, however, is a completely different story. I have Delta Dental insurance, as do many people who have dental insurance. The office repeatedly overcharged me and tried to bill me amounts that were not approved by Delta Dental. My insurance called them multiple times, as did I. The woman handling accounts receivable and responsible for the billing had no idea what she was doing and was incredibly rude. The problems went on for months and I finally sent a letter to Dr. Goodwin himself, upon which I received both a written and verbal apology from him and the office. I was shocked that an established office could conduct such shady billing practices but am relieved that it's finally over.

I love Weight Watchers! They teach you how to eat real food from day one and moderate your portions. They stress behavior modification (solving real-life problems without food) and healthy eating. After 26 years of being overweight, I lost 35 pounds but I have kept if off for 9 years! I am actually the person who takes food home from a restaurant instead of leaving a clean plate. What I like best is the group support and getting 30 minutes a week to focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I get great food recommendations and encouragement and tips to deal with the challenges I still face. And I get one on one support from the leader when I need it. I cannot recommend WW enough!!!

I used to shop at Walmart because it was close to home but now Longs Drug is the drugstore in my city and it is SOOOOO much better. It is much larger, has way many more deals (especially those Free After Rebate deals) - and they sell more grocery-related items - which means a one-stop-shop for me. No longer do I need to go to safeway to buy milk and to longs to buy cosmetics on the same day. it is long drugs for both things

All in all I don't think of Albertson's as a very high quality grocery store (and buying Lucky a few years ago didn't help) but this location is one of the best. They do have a
"club" but when I didn't have a card the employee typed in some other card number (I don't know whose) so I could get the discount. That has never happened at Safeway, where you have to have an account to get their sales. I stop by whenever I'm in the area.

Walgreen's has a rebate program where you can usually get Suave and Colgate products for free (okay, you do have to pay for a stamp to send in the form) and I haven't paid for toothpaste, toothbrushes, bodywash or shampoo for about a year. Plus, if you have them put it on a gift card, you get an extra 10%. This Walgreens also saves me the aggravation of getting kids out of the car or getting out of the car in the rain when I have to pick up a prescription since it has a drive through.

I was referred to one of their Chiropractor by my doctor when I was having problem w/ my back. When I got there the receptionist is very friendly. The Chiropractor was already expecting me, I guess my doctor have told him about me. It has a family oriented feeling in that environment, eventhough none of them are related. They have pictures of their families & kids on the wall. I got to meet their visiting families as well. They gave me discounted co-pay since I paid for 20 sessions in full.

I was unfortunate to be diagnosed with breast cancer. I was fortunate enough to be referred to California Cancer Care in San Mateo. Marnie and Marilyn the front desk gals are so warm and friendly. Always greet you with a smile. Then there is the back room staff, patient and caring who are all patient and caring I can't say enough about Amy. Amy started my first chemo session and she made me feel very comfortable and in great hands. Amy is knowledgeable and caring. I have made many friends from Calif Cancer Care and they feel the same way. TLC as soon as you walk in the door to your very last session.
