I think the pricing is really reasonable. one of the main benefits is that the whole place is brand new and that they're working hard to make it as family-friendly as possible. the pools are great, especially now that the weather is getting nice to use the outdoor pools as well. one cool thing is that they have a separate kiddie pool that is completely surrounded by a closed gate.... then, you can also play with your kids in the other pools as well. the exercise equipment is also brand
new, and it is never too busy to use whatever equipment you want to. all of the cardio equipment have their own individual tvs that you just plug your headphones into. Childcare is $3 an hour and they have both an indoor area as well as an outdoor area with play equipment, sand and water tables, etc. the people who work there couldn't be nicer and they're always focusing on the children and what they want to do.

I went to this school from 1st-3rd grade and loved it! My teachers were amazing. My brother was in the gifted program there and loved being able to interact with so many people. The principal, staff, and school are very nice. The campus has some great rules and scenery and lots of great places to play. They have a nice library as well that has lots of books, the ones needed for school and fun ones like Goosebumps.

We could not be more pleased with the PJCC! My son was there for 2 years. The first year, his teacher was very in tune with child development and within 2 months was able to notice that his development was behind. I'm convinced that it might have been missed somewhere else. Thanks to Teacher Vicki, he has gotten the help he needs. His Pre-K gave him the emotional support he needed to make the transition into more academic stuff and to feel like everyone else. The curriculum, while Jewish based, is inclusive. It was more cultural than religious. We are Jewish, so it was wonderful to have them reinforce my son's identity and joy of the rituals of Judaism. But he was also learning his letters and doing art projects and Thanksgiving plays and playing with friends and reading stories and all the things you'd find in a non-Jewish preschool. Even in the 3 year old program, they go weekly to a "gym" movement class and host a music specialist. In the pre-K program, a water readiness swimming class is added. There are half-day and full-day options, enrichment (similar to recreation center classes) and a lunch program that extends the day for half-day participants. I am excited to see my son go to Kindergarten, but I will definitely miss the JCC and the JCC Community.

I have been to three birthday parties at Peninsula Gym and each time has been memorable and enjoyable for my son. I understand that there are two parties at the same time, but we always end up being at the same place. The kids get to do a gymnastics routine (parents can watch but do not participate) and then there is a party room (or two, we've always been in the same room) where you can bring snacks and cake. The gymnastics routine is fun and the kids really enjoy themselves and look forward to the next party.

Junior Gym in the greatest! I got the pleasure to watch my neice and nephew attend a gymnastics class and was very impressed. I was a bit unsure of what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find a place that lets kids be kids but teaches them about fitness in a fun way. The teacher was a a young energetic guy who knew just what to do to keep several young children engaged while teaching them basic gymnastic skills and keeping it fun. I will recommend this to all my friends with young children.
A side note, they play great music during the classes!
Pros: Fun, clean, energetic and low cost!
Cons: None that I can think of

More
While looking for preschools for my son, I heard great things about Children's School from a co-worker of mine whose kids went there. I heard that getting in might be difficult (at the time, the registration was on a Saturday morning and people camped out to get a spot - I believe this has changed). Though I thought camping out at 4 am on a Saturday was insane, I'm glad I did it. Nancy Martin, the school's director, is such a warm and friendly woman who deeply cares about the students and makes everyone feel special. Her staff is great and it's a co-op, which keeps the price down and helps with the transition from toddlerhood to preschooler. It also keeps the adult/student ratio down and engenders great community. There is also a nursery for your younger/older kids who don't have school so you don't have to miss out! I can't wait until September when my daughter becomes a preschooler here!

CSM is a pretty good school compared to all the other junior colleges in the bay area. It sits on a hilly area of San Mateo that always has perfect weather. the campus is beautiful, very well mainatined and always filled with hustle and bustle. They have excellent programs that you can take to transfer you to a four year university. Great JC!

I think College of San Mateo offers good value for the money. You can register on line and get take distance learning classes if you are too busy. You can also take classes at the campus just for career enrichment without being enrolled in a degree program. If you are in a degree program, these credits transfer easily to any 4 year university in California, if you plan it right. That's why it's such a good deal. There is some construction going on at the campus currently, so some of the parking areas are shut down, keep that in mind!

I attanded College of San Mateo for a summer school session. The location of this junior college is in a beautiful and scenic area. Th ecampus is a very good size, not too small or not too larger. The students and faculty are very helpful and friendly. the education at this school is very comparable to City College of San Francisco and Skyline College. Overall, it was a very good experience for me.
