I'm usually not a complainer about what I eat. I'm usually pretty satisfied with the meals that I eat out.
Pancho Villa Taqueria was recommended to me by friends and also when I'd go searching for a meal on the Internet, so one Saturday evening, the wife and I decided to give it a try.
Parking was ridiculous and after driving around for 15 minutes looking, we parked in the Dreygers Market parking lot, which is not recommended...there are signs stating Customers Only. But, in our pursuit for great Mexican food, we took the chance.
The place was packed, loud and all the employees were moving at an insane pace. With no place to sit and people standing, waiting for their order we ordered a couple of the Grilled Chicken Burritos, to go. Waited about 15-20 minutes and raced home to eat.
The burrito was tasty, but was very light on the quantity of the chicken, which was very delicious. The rest of the burrito was very juicy with lots of beans, rice, sour cream and guacamole. I really wish they would have been more generous with the amount of meat and went a bit lighter with the other ingredients.
We tried again on a weekday a few weeks later. We were able to dine in and both of us got the carne asada enchilada plate. Two enchilada's rice beans, salad and tortillas. They were a bit more liberal with the meat here, but the whole meal was just good at best. Nothing to write home about.
Also, the price of these meals seemed to be a bit on the pricey side. We've eaten much better food at better prices at other taquerias'. Maybe for the ritzy people that shop in the area this is a great place to eat, but my suggestion is to NOT waste too much time and effort. Try a local taqueria that's close to home, find a good one you like and stick with it.

Man! The burritos are great. Everytime we are in th bay area, we make it a point to go here. We have had the oppurtunity to eat at all three locations. The good thing is that the quality remains the same no matter where to go. The carne asada is full of flavor. I think that the San Mateo location is the best only because of the size. You can usually find a table with out have to stand and wait for someone to finish and leave so that you can sit down.
Pros: Burritos
Cons: Size of the other locations

Best fast food I've ever had.
I don't know how anyone could say the people are unfriendly! I've been out of town so I can't really say anything about the change in staff, but when I used to go there with my younger brother when he was still little and we'd always get him a smoothie and the smoothie guy would aaaaalways give him extra in a little cup. It was cute and endearing.
I don't even need to say anything about the food, it's obviously delish. I'd say it's a great place for people to go to since it doesn't carry the most allergic to foods like peanuts or dairy products. try the frescas <3
Only con is that they aren't open as long as I'd want them to be - 24 hours!

The food here is always good, and the service is always great. I've never had a bad experience here, and I've eaten in, ordered to go, and phone ordered.
Go here, and enjoy your dinner!!!!

Had a super carne asada burrito to go- yummy grilled flavor overall. My trick is to tell them to go easy on the rice! : )

I know lots of people go here. but personally, I don't like the service. The cashiers are always so unfriendly. Never see a smile on anyone's face there, have you noticed? It's like they are not allowed to smile. YOu would think for a mom and pop place they would be better. Mcdee's has better service with a smile better than this place.
THe food is ok but nothing great. I like La Cumbre much better. THe burritos at Pancho is a bit on the dry side.
And at Pancho, the flies that are always buzzing around makes me a bit paranoid if they ever landed on my meal before i got to it.
It's not even that cheap. and the wait certainly makes it even less inviting. It's been around for a while so i guess that's why people go. But if you want yummy food with atleast decent service, go elsewhere.
