Horrible place, they over price you unlike I have ever seen before. If you are not of asian decent you will have to wait forever and get horrible service. They go as far as serving a Asian group 5 times before they serve you if your white. If you ask for soup and they say 2 bowls or a pott you better say 2 bowls or you will get ripped off.
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: Rasist

Friday eve four of us went to Blue Mango at 8 p.m. to have dinner since it was my son's 24th birthday. We were told to wait for 20 minutes which was acceptable since we had not called earlier to make reservations. Eventually there was no place to sit in the waiting area so we stood up for some time making place to accomodate others. I kept checking with the attendant and he was not willing to give a proper answer. The people who came after us also got a table but we still kept waiting till 9 p.m. I again asked the guy why we were made to wait so long and he said that he had a table which could seat 5 people but not 4 so he had another family occupy that table who had just walked in. After which there were other 3 tables given out to different families who came in after us but the guy would not seat the 4 of us. We finally left at 9 p.m. hungry and disappointed and decided never to go back to Blue Mango again.
The staff there first should be taught hospitality and appropriate behaviour. It seems as though they are not concerned about their customers instead looked like they were obliging us. I have never come across such a hostile behavoiur in a restaurant. NEVER NEVER AGAIN.

I came here with a group of friends for dinner, and they accomodated us well. It wasn't too crowded either. There are a handful of vegetarian options, as well as non-vegetarian options, so it's great for anyone! I ordered the Pad Thai and was pleased. The prices are okaaay, but not the cheapest deal. Worth a try.

Whenever I go to Blue Mango I always look forward to their dessert menus. I've tried almost everything and all of them have not failed me. It's a great place to go and check out.

We made reservations a week in advance for 8 people on a Sunday at 4pm.. They called us back and asked where we were on Saturday at 4.. Day too early.. So we made the reservations on Sunday for 5 pm when they opened. We get there, and they didn't have our reservations still. We sit down and order within 10 minutes since we were on a time crunch. The place was soooo hot. We literally were sweating. Water didn't come for a good 30 minutes after we had to stop someone to get it for us.. but the drinks that we had ordered still hadn't shown up. 40 minutes after we ordered, our food finally came; portions were small, the "spicy" wasn't spicy at all, and worst of all, there was a BINDER CLIP in the curry!!! My garlic chicken had something really hard in it, which I feared chipped my tooth. My friend, who had the same dish, also ate something hard which is still questionable on what it was. Our drinks finally came after our food was consumed (minus the binder clip of course). When the check came, there were items charged that we ordered, that never came.. I demanded that they be taken off, and the food with the binder clip was taken off too. They also gave us 15% off since I threw a fit that it took so long. They added a 20% gratuity to the check, which I refused to pay because I wasn't grateful for any of the service that was provided.. (or lack there of). I would never ever EVER go to this place again... and take my advise.. don't go there yourself.
Pros: Fake plants in the front.
Cons: food, service, bathroom, drinks, binder clip

Blue Mango has a huge variety of delicious items, including many vegetarian dishes! The simply vegetable soup (with silver noodles) is the most soothing, BEST soup I have ever had. Sweet potato sticks are just, uh, YUM! Bamboo mountain, with mushrooms, veggies, and tofu is out of this world. I might just have to go here every day and bring a container of the soup home!! The service is friendly, quick, and with smiles. I love this place!!
Pros: ALL good!
Cons: parking is a little tight

I'm going to keep it short! I loved it here! The curries are yummy and so are the stir-fries. I also like their pineapple fried rice, and how it is NOT served in a pineapple shell because I heard that restaurants who use them reuse them. GROSS! So i'm glad mine comes on a nice white plate! Also, I ordered the spicy garlic chicken too spicy and the waitress asked it I wanted her to bring it back! Thank goodness, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish it! WHen here don't forget to leave room for dessert.

Unfortunately, in 2006 the San Jose Mercury News readers made the inexcusable mistake of rating "Blue Mango" as the best Thai Restaurant in San Jose. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The Tom Kah Gai (Chicken) Soup arrived mildly warm with very little spice. The Chef used only half of the usual Thai ingredients others Thai restaurants use for flavoring. The result was a bland tepid uninspired start. (Compare Tom Kah Gai soup at Thai Pepper or Krung Thai, in San Jose, and you'll see that the presentation should be on a burner with the soup simmering with a bounty of Thai herbs and spices with a kick.) The Won Ton Soup and Chicken Satee were competently prepared though not inspired with any flare.
The second big disappointment was the Heavenly Stuffed Chicken Wings. I've had the same dish prepare by Thai Restaurants from San Francisco down throughout the Silicon Valley and I can say these wings were among the most bland I have ever tasted. Each bite was dry and without flavor or spice.
Both the Pineapple Fried Rice and the Pad Thai Noodles were swimming in sauce. Where did the Chef learn that fried rice should be wet and soggy? The Pineapple Fried Rice was also not served in a pineapple bowl as you would find at many Thai restaurants that cared about food presentation, which Blue Mango does not. The Pad Thai Noodles were almost inedible having been so heavily coated in a tangy sauce that no amount of bean sprouts or chopped peanuts could have tamed.
The Volcano Chicken ended up being roughly chopped bone-in chicken parts with coarsely chopped veggies on a warm iron plate, so that there was nothing volcanic about it; no steam rose from the dish and the taste was worse than bland. The Chicken Curry was acceptable.
Bottom line-no flavor, no visual presentation, and no creativity. Pass on this one.
Pros: Parking
Cons: Food & Service

This is nice place for Veggie Thai lovers. We had tried the Simply Vegetables soup to start with. Later on dish that we tried and liked are Bamboo Mountain, Devoted Vegetables which is surved in yellow coconut milk curry. Overall food is of good quality and nicely presented.
If you go bit early for dinner, you will be able to get hold of nice place and will enjoy your food.
PROS: Veggie Thai lovers can have many options

YES it's very busy on Friday nights! So I go on Saturday nights! I caught a live music night which was very delightful. I've been going here since it opened in 2002/2003 and it's changed a lot! But the food is great, and the service is awesome. I can tell that on Monday there are like 2 waitresses but on Friday and Saturday there are 6! I love the Tom Yum and Tropical Curry (which has mangoes hmmmm). DOn't bring your kids if they're rowdy because the place is small, and the staff will walk them back to their seats! Someone was complaining about it, but I think it's wonderful!
Pros: Tom Yum SOup
Cons: parking
