I joined this club since day one when they had not finished all remodeling. My main interest was attending classes, TKB, step, yoga, and wgt. classes, however in the past 8 months, they have new corp. rule that they keep the temp @74+ in the class room and in the gym area making it almost impossible to breath. I almost fainted in one of classes. It is not clean and it seems they sign up who ever. How could a gym facility make such a decision on Temp.? it is after all a health club and they to maintain good standards. I cancelled my membership today.
PROS: NONE
CONS: poor ventilation, too hot. setting , stuffy, not clean, too many people

This 24 Hour fitness is located on Santa Teresa Blvd. directly across from Kaiser Hospital. The gym is pretty clean, but there are quite a number of members there (because it's so cheap), that the machines break and get rundown on a regular basis. There are a good number of cardio machines but the weight machines attract people looking to hang out rather than work out. The staff does nothing to keep people from using the machines longer than one hour. Guests are asked to fill out a form and talk to a salesperson BEFORE they work out which takes time and since the salespeople are so pushy, it is a waste of time. The gym has a full court basketball court and a three lane swimming pool.
PROS: large, good ventilation
CONS: crowded everyday, all day

I do not like this gym as much as Club Sport because it is like comparing a 3 star hotel to a 5 star hotel. Since the membership fee is so much lower here and they are always coming up with some new incentive program to get newbies to join up, it makes sense that less money means less service and less room. It is not so bad when you go during off hours when you don't have to deal with the before and after work crowd. When it is crowded, it feels and smells like a high school locker room.
PROS: good promos, sufficient equipment
CONS: not much walking room
