Less than mediocre would be my review. If I were this restaurant owner I'd fire the fruit and vege vendor and perhaps the chef. The tomatoes under the buffalo mozzarella were so far from ripe they should never have left the vine, and I'm not sure where the often spoke of wine vinegar was but it was not on this dish. And there were some tomato seeds with the sauteed peppers but everything was cold and was it really sauteed for more than a second? My dinner guest liked the filet mignon meatballs but both of us agreed it was not just beef....and I couldn't eat them. The trio of flambeed mushrooms...button caps out of a can and again cold. Not a wild mushroom or even fresh mushroom to be found.l The waitress tried to sell us on another mushroom dish and we said no, but did she have the decency to tell us they were out of mushrooms needed for the dish we ordered? No. And finally, the melon with prosciutto and a medley of three fruits including figs in the chef's special sherry vinegar...trail mix with a little red wine vinegar on the plate-and no fig. And the melon was so under ripe we almost cracked our teeth. Not prosciutto either. Oh, let's not forget the service...was there any? Not from our server. Shame on you Picasso's Tapas Restaurant. Stay away public.

We went to Picacco's for the 18th birthday of our son Julian. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere. We really enjoyed the fantastic food, prepared with attention to detail and very tasty. But we most enjoyed the great service by Elizabeth. She was fun, conveyed the energy we were looking for for this night and served us with great passion. Please go and check it out. Hint, she works on Friday and Saturday nights...

We just ate at Picasso's and even though the full service staff did not show up for work, we had good service, the food was wonderful, and the place lively and full. We will return, if they can provide such service and food without help, I can only imagine how wonderful it would be with a full staff. Service is becoming a joke at most places these days, and without the staff it seemed so much better than most, they honestly tried, what a concept. The food and Sangria were the bomb, what a find!!!!! We will be back.
Pros: Food-Service
Cons: Small tables, for alot of food.

Last Saturday my husband and I had the chance to eat really Spanish food at downtown. I found out while in the restaurant that it had a new owner and we had the chance to meet him as he approached our table and was very interested about the quality and taste of our Tapas. He was really kind offering an outrageous finale with a glass of Porto wine. Nice night in Downtown.

What a surprise to go back to Picasso's and find what had been lost. I couldn't believe my eyes to see all the changes in the place. New look, fast service and great food. We tried few tapas but my favorite one was the gambas mmmm delicious! The paella was well served plenty of all its ingredients accompanied by a sangria. To wrap up our meal for dessert we had a flan, sweet way to end the night. Two thumbs up.

Things got off to a good start. My wife and I visited on a Friday evening, and were greeted by a kindly grey-haried German waitress who promplty showed us to one of the many empty tables. Once seated, I noticed how shabby the place was, with peeling paint and a kind of soot that hung in the air, with mandatory Gypsy Kings music on the sound system. I chalked the decor up to Iberian "authenticity", since these shabby cafes are pretty common around Spain. I then reached for the drink menu, held in together in a torn-in-half plastic protector. I ordered the Catalunyan beer, but lo, they were out, so I ordered the Heineken. I was nervous, the menu looked really expensive for the setting.
We started in on the french bread, which was very dry. I asked for olive oil instead of butter. Then something happened that I could not have ever imagined, an act of passive agressive hostility so vile that I still can't accept my victimization. Our waitress brought us straight vegetable oil. Not believing my eyes, I looked at the puddle of yellow before me, and dipped my bread in to cofirm. 100% pure organic virgin Wesson.
I don't know why I didn't leave right then. I guess I'm just a wuss. Our tapas were then served: crab cakes (very very good!), melon and jamon serrano with queso manchego (left uncovered in the fridge, it tasted stale), linguica (they were out of chorizo too; this tasted like a glorified hot dog, straight out of Big Lots), and batatas bravas (tasted of old oil).
When it hurts this good, why stop there? We then ordered the crema catalana, after being assured it was the real thing and not creme brulee. It was worse -- they had the gall to serve us prepackaged reheated Trader Joe's (or Safeway Select, or Costco) creme brulee in that brown earthenware dish you can't throw out so you keep it in a cabinet just out of guilt. Don't they know some of their customers shop at these places?
Altogether, we spent $60.00. Bitterness.
Pros: They've hung some cool old museum posters.
Cons: Bad food, bad service, bad ambience, bad value.

Once we arrived, we got our table pretty quick, considering it was a Friday night. At first the service was good, but then it got worse minute by minute. Our sangria barely had any fruits in it, and it took 45 min for them to get a new one, while we saw other tables get perfect sangrias in minutes. The service is very slow, and sometimes not very friendly. The tapas tastes pretty good, but were very expensive for the portions. The paella was extremely overcooked, and the rice literally stuck to the pan. Once we told the waiter, he got an attitude and didn't even say thank you when we left. I don't reccomend this place at all.
Pros: Nice atmosphere
Cons: Bad food, expensive, terrible service

We ordered a few plates, however the owner did not think it would be enough and got us another tapas on the house. We loved the food and the kind act really made an impact on us. We will surely go back again!
Pros: Service is awesome
Cons: Small place
