I really wanted to love this place. I had been promising myself to try it out for the last two years. Now, I wish that I had not gone. I have been 3 times as I think it is unfair to judge a place on one visit or one dish. The salads are fresh and really good, but the chicken is just plain greasy and there is some sort of 'spice' or 'herb' that leaves an 'off' taste in our mouths. If you work near a SCC, it is a great place to grab a light salad lunch. But, I would not go out of my way to get there nor do I suggest the chicken. Pros: Friendly staff, good salads Cons: Greasy chicken and some sides are unappetizing

We are not fans of Sonoma Chicken Coop. The chicken was dry and the service was rude. The place was pretty busy, but not that busy that they couldnt do it right. We wont go back.

I had heard mixed reviews so my wife & I decided to try it out... that was a mistake. WAY over-rated and over-priced. Stay away.

Can't beat this place for value. Sonoma Chicken Coop lives up to its claim to fame: quality, inexpensive food. The menu has a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, steaks, seafood, pastas, you name it. I've been here a handful of times for that very reason, there is always something for all. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. For the nights there are heated lamps and The live band is definitely a nice touch. If you're a pizza lover I highly recommend the bbq chicken pizza.

Sonoma Chicken Coop is without a doubt, THE WORST restaurant in San Jose. I have ordered about 8 different items from there menu total now, including their 'famous chicken' and let me tell you...every single item i have ordered has been either one or all of the following:1: Completely tasteless, (all of their food APPEARS to be seasoned, however anyone with tastebuds will easily see through that sham after the first bite)2: Undercooked (I have had pizza with uncooked dough, and pasta that still had hard and dry pieces)3: Cold! (three of the times I have gone their i have received COLD food!)4: Dry! (With no exxaggeration everything I have ordered seems to come straight from the microwave)Their famous chicken is...decent (I would not go so far as to call it good). The only thing to like about the place is their decor/atmosphere, which is done in an elegant rural/italian style with low cafe style tables and big color prints of vinyards and farms on the walls.

for what you pay, i would rather go and get a burrito then eat here again. even when my boyfriends company christmas party was held here and it was all paid for, i groaned at the thought of eating here once more. dont get me wrong, i really did try and wanted to like it so bad! i tried the salad, the chicken, and the calamari. and the calamari made me sick! if you're a true foody, love great food, then dont go here. we live in the bay area and we are so lucky to have so many amazing GREAT restaurants, so go to one of those instead. this place is dog food.
