Really really nice location. The Marriott is really close to everything in downtown, so all our friends and relatives were able to really have fun and enjoy San Jose without having to worry about the parking or transportation. Considering I was juggling a whole bunch of things at once, the convenient location really stood out to me as the reason why I was happy I chose them. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a real busy schedule, but also wants their friends and family to have a good time when they're visiting.

I attended a conference at the convention center and spent a lot of time with my team who stayed at the Marriot. My collegue and I went to the front desk to get change for the vallet person. There was no one in line but four staff members on two opposite sides of the front desk. each group look up at us and then back to chatting with eachother ignorning us. After 5 mins we walked away giving up. Moments later a woman went to the desk and all four people jumped to help her. When my collegue and I pointed out that we'd been ignored.. we were asked to wait until they were finished helping her. Not acceptable! My collegue was then called at 11pm to fix his unhappiness. 11pm!!. And was then checked out of his room by the hotel, one day earlier than he was scheduled to leave without his permision. The next night I tried to get my car from Vallet. It took an hour for them to get my car. they left it on the side of the building unlocked but without the keys. It took another 30 mins to track down my missing keys. I stood in the middle to try and get someone attention and I was completely ignored!. Very very unprofessional. This staff needs major training on customer service. A simple, "I'm very sorry, I'm working on finding your keys" is all I needed to be happy. Instead I got blatantly ignored while standing 1 foot away from the woman.
Pros: nice room
Cons: terrible customer service!!

My grandparents held their 50th anniversary celebration here in the Marriott's banquet room and it was just about darn near perfect. Everyone had a blast of a time and my grandparents were laughing and dancing all over the place. I gotta say that the part that was the most memorable that all the guests could not stop talking about was the food. The caterers at the Marriott really knew how to serve a big party. It did not taste like party food at all. Most of it looked expensive and very french. I never thought I could stomach escargot and mushy veal, but it the way they were prepared was delicious. The best was the dessert, I'm a sucker for ice cream. Sorbet au Citron (Lemon) and Sorbet Tomate la Menthe (Tomato Mint). Ahhhh....
PROS: organized, on time, great attitude
CONS: costs a fortune
