I come into the store on a regular basis for the frozen yogurt, which is really good. Since i have been coming here I always get a very fake greeting from the young teenage girls that work there. Every time I have been in there the girls are saying some pretty nasty things about the customers. They have even said something about myself as i was walking out. There friends and boyfriends hang out with them while they are working and i can tell they are not so customer focused. I understand how teenage girls can be, but these girls go way too far. They could use a lesson in customer service before the the store losses some loyal customers.

This place has good ice cream... if you go on the right night. The last few times I have been there (I live right around the corner) they were out of many of the flavors... even staples like vanilla, plain old chocolate, and strawberry. They finally had my 4th choice and it was freezer burned. It is also not very clean. The workers are always courteous, but I regularly see them scoop ice cream, then handle money, then scoop again, without gloves or washing their hands. As a matter of fact, I don't think I have ever seen anyone wash their hands in there. I think they need to get in there and scrub the place down and learn better inventory control so they don't run out of flavors mid-week. It is a nice family place and the servings are huge especially for the price.
PROS: Size for price, courteous and friendly employees, usually really good ice cream
CONS: Poor inventory management, hygiene of employees, cleanliness of shop

When we lived in this neighborhood, this was our favorite place to go for ice cream. Generous servings and tastes great. The ice cream is made by Treat Ice Cream in San Jose. It's the same stuff they sell at PW.
Even though we have moved, we still drive over a couple times a year for what we think is the best ice cream in San Jose!

Sweet Retreat is located in a rundown strip mall off of Santa Teresa and Cahalan Ave. Even though it isn??t surrounded by the best of stores, the ice cream here is so delicious as is the frozen yogurt they pump out of a vintage yogurt maker. The prices are very reasonable, a large yogurt will set you back about $4 and its enough to feed two people! Afternoons can be crowded with kids who are just out of school for the day, but evenings are usually quiet and the service is quick. Summer is the busiest time for this ice cream shop and it always seems as if there aren??t enough workers. Sweet Retreat also offers candy and a wide variety of shakes and smoothies, all created by the owner herself. There are a few tables to sit and eat at, and there are two benches outside the store to relax and eat on.
PROS: fresh ingredients, reasonable prices
CONS: can be crowded in the afternoons

I LOVE icecream. I ask my boyfriend to take me for icecream at least twice a week. We decided to take a ride to this place which is off the beaten bath for us. We were THRILLED we did. The icecream is the best and I finally found a coconut/pineaple icecream to die for. Another treat was the price. You can't get any cheaper. The price we paid for two waffle cones, one with one scoop and one with two scoops of icecream; you can't pay that in Los Gatos for ONE waffle cone. We met a gentleman there eating a bananna split for under $4.00. He said it was his dinner and he could eat it for breadfast, lunch and dinner. He visits there ALL the time. You have to try the icecream. YUMMY!
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: needs a face lift
