We are so lucky to have St.Peter among our neighborhood restaraunts. In a sea of mediocre restraunts St.Peter is godsend. The atmosphere is always freindly and the food consistently good. When not overly busy they are happy to create a dish that suits your fancy if you happen to be in the mood for something not on the evenings menu. We love it and dine at St.Peter weekly!

If you want a great pizza, go to Angelino's. The crust is so fresh and light and the sauce they use must be homemade since I have never tasted something this good before. Prices are good and the atmosphere is very friendly.

Really wonderful food - we moved away and really missed Angelos! Now anytime we're in town we stop for take-out. Pizza awesome too! It's a real hole in the wall - but clean and good service as well. The outside may make you think twice - but take a chance - you'll be glad you did! Inexpensive and good spot to take kids and groups.
Pros: Service, food, price
Cons: can't think of one

Why wait an hour or more to eat at Santana Row, Antonella's was great food, service and value. The place is thriving with local Rose garden neightbors. The Veal Picatta and Lasagna was the best I have ever had. You must try their calamari, simply the best. The staff is very friendly and the owner is always their to greet you and assist.
This place is a hidden gem
Pros: great food and great value, big portions
Cons: parking, but lots across the street in the school

Worth the wait! Stopped by one night and kitchen was down for some reason - months later, success! Carnivale mojitos were lethally YUMMY! Service was excellent - and unlike other reviews, received our food timely. The staff were all friendly and not one single thing - including the delicious food - could be improved upon. Definitely a do-over! I would recommend this place to everyone.
Pros: top-notch food; friendly staff; drinks to die for

My lawyer, Jeff L, kept telling me about this place so I had to check it out.
I was very impressed. Bella Mia is probably one of the biggest restaurants in Downtown San Jose.
Who ever designed this restaurant had very good (and expensive) taste. Lots of mahogany stained solid woods accented by heavy brass . I used to be in the restaurant biz so I can appreciate the beauty in a well designed eatery.
The menu is Italian and unlike most "cookie cutter" restaurants that are popular now, from what I learned on my visit, everything in the Bella Mia kitchen is made from scratch. The prices are fair for dining out with some very good filet steak specials on mid-week nights.
While looking over the menu, my usual aperitif, Compari and soda with a twist was served promptly in a heavy rocks glass.
As recommended by the waiter, I tried a new lunch item on the menu, the rib steak sandwich with garlic fries. Grilled on an open flame and placed inside soft garlic French bread. This was one of the best steak sandwiches I have ever had and now I know where Gordon Biersch got the recipe for garlic fries. Try the fries with a side of ranch dressing dip and don't fill up on the warm foccacia bread and tasty cheesie spread before your meal arrives.
The espresso was served as it should be, rich, strong and creamy with a twist of lemon and raw sugar cubes...the best.
The service couldn't be any better for a Downtown restaurant.
I hear Bella Mia is famous for other dishes (scallopini and parmigiana) with many reviews and write-ups from critics.
"I'll be back soon"
Pros: Everything is made from scratch.
Cons: Parking in Downtown San Jose is the pits.

Blue Mango has a huge variety of delicious items, including many vegetarian dishes! The simply vegetable soup (with silver noodles) is the most soothing, BEST soup I have ever had. Sweet potato sticks are just, uh, YUM! Bamboo mountain, with mushrooms, veggies, and tofu is out of this world. I might just have to go here every day and bring a container of the soup home!! The service is friendly, quick, and with smiles. I love this place!!
Pros: ALL good!
Cons: parking is a little tight

My wife and I had a delightful and delicious meal at the Bold Knight Bistro last night. The evening began with free valet parking and immediate seating. It was early and the large dining room was very uncrowded. As the evening progressed, more and more diners arrived but in spite of the size of the room, the noise level was very low. The various areas of the room are separated by low partitions giving the effect of several smaller rooms. Additionally, there is a large banquet room downstairs seating around 100 diners for special events.
We prefaced our meal with a Mediterranean appetizer consisting of a fine selection of sausages, meatballs, marinated mushrooms, grilled lamb and a flaky layered pastry with marinated grape leaf filling. Delicious.
My wife opted for halibut with fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes. The portion was very ample and, again, delicious. I had the Bold Knight steak, medium, with the same side dishes. It was more than ample and very tender.
We did not even consider the dessert menu because of the size of the entrees - more than enough to take home after the meal. A cup of strong, rich coffee topped off the dinner.
The restaurant has a small but comfortable bar and a waiting area with two plus leather couches in front of a gas fireplace. The restrooms are down a flight of stairs, but there is an elevator for those who might need or prefer it.
Our waitress Karen was also a delight. Good natured and open and a pleasure to be around. The bus-guys did an outstanding job of keeping the water and iced tea flowing and the dishes cleared...without hovering.
We've been occasional customers of the former Bold Knight on Monterey Road and are delighted to see the Bistro continuing the Bold Knight tradition.
We will definitely be back!
Pros: Valet parking, easy in and out, excellent food and service
Cons: Can't think of anything that could have been done better.

Food and Service was great for a !st timer! We went for a birthday party and there was 13 of us. Family style serving was great especially for having little ones! A large spaghetti with meat sauce hit the spot for them! We order 5 large servings and still had lots of food to take home!
