Habana Cuba is amazing. Although I've only been here once, I'm going to go ahead and declare this one of my favorite restaurants. A friend of mine from Miami who claims to really know her Cuban food raved about this place being the best in the San Jose. Needless to say, she was dead-on. Off appetizers alone I was already full. The plate I ordered was the seafood cioppino. It came with all the goodies: clams, shrimp, lobster, and bass that literally just melts in your mouth. The plate came out pipping hot but was so good it didn't stop me from biting into it. Another recommendation would be my husband's dish, the lechon de la Cubana. Ever since I've gone I've been telling all my friends about my experience. Nice ambiance, huge portions on food, very attentive staff, I'd go back to Habana Cuba in a heartbeat.

I was there the night of blowfishblowme's alleged near death drama. I thought the resturaunt handled themselves rather professionally considering they had a wild cougar dancing on the table and acting crazy when they asked her to get down. Get off the juice! Blowfish is a great place to have fun.
Pros: Great food, music and normally people
Cons: Occasionally they throw out a drunk

Aqui has become our favorite restaurant. The one in Willow Glen is the one we usually go to, but we like the one in Campbell also, and the food is consistant. Not only is the food great, the prices are good, the drinks are good, and ALL the people that work there are outstanding. Everybody is cheerfull and helpfull. I'm not crazy about the new aluminum chairs. It does get pretty busy sometimes, but it is well worth it.

We usually drop by E&O on Fridays or Saturdays. The ambiance is great, good service, but the best part is the food...love the firecracker chicken...n' also the small plates, specially the fried shrimps...its yummy!
Cons: finding parking, not a lot of vegetarian choices!

We had reservations and didn't have any delays even on a Friday night.
This is a great family restaurant and a place to bring large parties, birthdays, etc. The ambiance and interior are really nice, but you will feel comfortable bringing children. It is not fine gourmet dining. And that is precisely why the kids love it!

My lawyer, Jeff L, kept telling me about this place so I had to check it out.
I was very impressed. Bella Mia is probably one of the biggest restaurants in Downtown San Jose.
Who ever designed this restaurant had very good (and expensive) taste. Lots of mahogany stained solid woods accented by heavy brass . I used to be in the restaurant biz so I can appreciate the beauty in a well designed eatery.
The menu is Italian and unlike most "cookie cutter" restaurants that are popular now, from what I learned on my visit, everything in the Bella Mia kitchen is made from scratch. The prices are fair for dining out with some very good filet steak specials on mid-week nights.
While looking over the menu, my usual aperitif, Compari and soda with a twist was served promptly in a heavy rocks glass.
As recommended by the waiter, I tried a new lunch item on the menu, the rib steak sandwich with garlic fries. Grilled on an open flame and placed inside soft garlic French bread. This was one of the best steak sandwiches I have ever had and now I know where Gordon Biersch got the recipe for garlic fries. Try the fries with a side of ranch dressing dip and don't fill up on the warm foccacia bread and tasty cheesie spread before your meal arrives.
The espresso was served as it should be, rich, strong and creamy with a twist of lemon and raw sugar cubes...the best.
The service couldn't be any better for a Downtown restaurant.
I hear Bella Mia is famous for other dishes (scallopini and parmigiana) with many reviews and write-ups from critics.
"I'll be back soon"
Pros: Everything is made from scratch.
Cons: Parking in Downtown San Jose is the pits.

Henry's has been around for a very long time and I have been going there since the mid 80's. Every time I have gone, I have had great food. The experience is different from other restaurants. Henry?s can be very crowded, especially if there is a Shark's game going on. When you get there, you need to take a number and wait for them to take your order. The menu is on the wall along with the prices of the meals. But whatever you do order, you will not be disappointed. I personally do not care for the "butter" that the put on the baked potato so I ask for plain butter. You have to order their mushrooms, as this is a great side dish with your food. Yes it can be a bit pricey, but the food is great!!! I would recommend this place if you love BBQ meats. If you bring friends from outside the area, when you pull up, they may say you have to be kidding. But once they taste the food, they will thank you for bringing them there. Parking can be hard, again especially when there is a Shark?s game going on that evening.
Pros: Steaks, mushrooms and all of the other food
Cons: parking

This downtown hot spot has evolved into the very best steak house in the south bay. The ambience is far above average, the service is top drawer, and the food is always top drawer. This fine resturant is probably downgraded by being catagorized as a steakhouse, but it is no doubt the best in San Jose.
Pros: Food, Wine list, Service
Cons: Parking

We visit this place regularly! Although there may be better Italian out there and the alfredo sauce is a little runny as one of the commenters noted, the food really is very good and we especially love the staff. They have a core group of stafff at this location that has some tenure and are very pleasant and personable. They even remember I don't like the mushrooms when I forget to ask "no mushrooms please". The Wednesday Family night is a deal you CANNOT beat. For $40 our family of 6 is stuffed and we have plenty of left overs to take home too! They are really good about substituting items too. So if you want something on the menu but prefer different sides they are very accomodating! They also have a decent Kids Menu.
Pros: Great Service, Reasonable Prices, Nice Atmosphere
Cons: Busy on weekends
