Lots of variety in toddlers toys and children books, though a bit more expensive than other bookstores and toystores. I would come here for the variety simply because they stock such interesting gadgets for kids, plus, it is educational for them. Customer service is okay, but they seem to stare at customers a lot.

Hicklebee's offers a great selection of children and teen books. They have a small section for baby books, both soft and hardcover. Children's books are available in several categories including academic, science, and ficiton. Teen books are available in similar categories as well. Hicklebee's also has a nice selection of toys, dolls, and stuffed animals. Nearly every week, an author stops by to sign books and gives readings of their latest books. One of the biggest names to come to Willow Glen was JK Rowling.

We went here to see Eric Carle and have him sign books. I was impressed with the knowledgeable staff who truly seemed to be excited about his books and books in general. They handled a big crowd efficiently and patiently. I was also impressed that they allowed him to sign one book that was not purchased at the store as long as you bought a book there. The only thing that marred the experience is that they sold out of his books pretty quickly. They did have a contingency plan, having him sign a name plate for a book you could order, but I was disappointed that they didn't anticipate the huge draw someone of Eric Carle's prolific career would attract. I definitely would go back here, if I'm in the area or if there is another author I want to see. The prices of the books didn't seem outrageous and I like the idea of supporting an independent and keeping more competition for B&N and Borders alive!
