Blue Mango has a huge variety of delicious items, including many vegetarian dishes! The simply vegetable soup (with silver noodles) is the most soothing, BEST soup I have ever had. Sweet potato sticks are just, uh, YUM! Bamboo mountain, with mushrooms, veggies, and tofu is out of this world. I might just have to go here every day and bring a container of the soup home!! The service is friendly, quick, and with smiles. I love this place!!
Pros: ALL good!
Cons: parking is a little tight

My favorite is the large serving size of excellent tempura. Then I have to decide -- tasty beef slices, sashimi, salmon teriyaki, ginger pork or the tonkatsu for my second choice. Whatever I select, I know I'll be very happy eating it. The salad is the best looking one I've seen in the Bay Area and both salad dressings are outstanding. The rice is always flawless and they serve two kinds of pickled veggies in the center. I love bringing friends here.
Pros: Best looking bento In the South Bay
Cons: Two choices; no option for three choices

I LOVE this place. Half the restaurant is a bar, where people often stand, socialize, and drink. The other half are the dining tables. My friends and I enjoy the food so much we often scrap our dishes. The only thing is it's pretty pricey so I only come here on certain occasions. The service could be better, and it's kind of loud, but overall I still love it.

Anise Cafe is located at a very un-expected location. However, once you have gotten over the location you will be in for a nice surprise. This is truly a treasure. There are lots of Vietnamese Restaurant in San Jose but only one Anise. It feels so warm and cozy. I would reccomend a Mango Mojito & Lychee Martini. Spring roll dipping in peanut sauce is perfect..fresh & crisp lettuce and cucumber. Mango & Water Crest Salad drizzled with lemongrass sauce is delicious. I would also order Anise Fried Rice...you will not find this anywhere else in San Jose. Mango Flan is a great way to end your meal. I love the space the food and the service were amazing. I will definitely come back.
Pros: Small Plates, lots of choices & great ambiance!
Cons: Locations!

The food here is SO good! I disagree with others that the waiters are rude, and I have never had a problem using a credit card. The restaurant is very busy, though, so the waiters can be rushed. But they are nice people.
The food is elegant and delicious! Simply the best in this area. I prefer it to the "New Krung Thai" by Valley Fair, although that one is good, too.
Pros: Delicious food
Cons: Can get busy at peak hours, so try to go at less busy times

I love all three of Mandarin Gourment's restaurants. Favorites include their hot and sour soup as well as their Peking Duck. I find their Peking Duck to be just as good as those hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants. Their ambiance is very nice and they have friendly staff/waiters.

We absolutely love this place. The fish is very fresh and plenty of choices to chose from. You have to try the Godzilla Roll! Lots of parking, great service although a little on the slow side so don't go when you're starving like we always seem to do. A+
Pros: Fresh Fish, a lot of parking, and great friendly people
Cons: Service can be slow- usually one to two chefs

I dined here a while back ago, took my nephew for his graduation. I have to tell you that I have eaten at several steakhouses in New York City (where I reside) and this outdid ALL of them!!! Definitely one of the juiciest steaks I've had and my nephew REALLY appreciated the Alaskan king crab legs. Next time I'm in SJ, I'll be taking my nephew again!
Pros: Great food
Cons: Maybe a little more knowledge on service
