Courteous, attentive and knowledgeable staff who care about animals. Facility is clean and parking is plentiful. My two cats have been patients for over three years and we are very satisfied with the services rendered. Had a friend visiting with her cat and Akal Veterinary Hospital made a last minute appointment for her - their service and and concern was outdstanding. I would highly recommend this hospital. An added plus is that their pricing is affordable - no need to mortgage your home!

There are a variety of animal hospitals in San Jose and I encourage all who read this to go elsewhere. I realize the other reviews on this site are positive but they were written back in 2005. I don't what has happened at Akal between 2005 and now, but taking my pet to Akal was the worst vet experience I've ever had. The visit was below my expectations in a variety of ways: 1. Very rude technician during scheduling of the appointment 2. Cold welcome once my pet and I entered the building--I felt as though my appointment was inconvienencing the staff 3. Unfriendly vet 4. Horrible groomer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My pet looked as though her hair was cut with a chainsaw. 5. When I called to complain about the grooming they refused to fix it or even give me my money back! Ridiculous!

AKAL is a perfect clinic to take your pets to for their routine shots or checkups. They have fast service and friendly staff. Also, they are cheaper than most clinics and provide the same treatment.... More

AKAL is a perfect clinic to take your pets to for their routine shots or checkups. They have fast service and friendly staff. Also, they are cheaper than most clinics and provide the same treatment. Usually they have promotions in the penny saver so you can get the coupons from there. Clean facility and everything is sterilized as should be. Vets and assistances are so kind and loving to the animals.
