I think Trader Vic's is one of the most beautiful restaurants in San Francisco. They also make the best MAI TAI using fresh lime juice. Pu Pu appetizers are fun. Everything from their famous oven is great, especially, Indonesian Lamb roast. But, you can have just a hot dog or hamburger when you feel like having something small at their very long bar.
Pros: great drinks, delicious food, nice ambiance

The pure aesthetics of this hotspot, floor to ceiling glass lets the light pour in making the space warm and inviting. Besides the atmosphere the food is also a highlight. With a short but sweet menu, Wichcraft's simplistic appeal offers a variety of options to feed your appetite. The peanut butter cookies are my favorite and highly recommend you should check out this deliciously good restaurant.

On a recent trip, my girl and I turned to Citysearch for help in finding a brunch spot near our B&B. We were a bit desperate as it was pushing 2pm, we hadn't yet eaten and barely had an internet connection. Well of the 5 or 6 suggestions, 1300 on Fillmore seemed to meet our criteria the best. Well Citysearch knocked this one out of the park!
Unlike the after-church crowd, we were more than a little under dressed. Still the staff promptly seated us in the gorgeous dining room. Our waiter was extremely friendly, assisting us in putting together an amazing meal. The banana blueberry buckwheat buttermilk pancakes appealed to both of us, although she ordered without the blueberry. Although we usually avoid ordering the same dish and side, we both were in the mood for scrambled eggs on the side. An appetizer of scones rounded out the order.
Curious about those pancakes? In a word, heavenly. Really, the texture and overall taste were fantastic (and would be no less wonderful had we not arrived virtually starving). The respective fruit was infused into the batter and also included on top. The syrup must have been grade B dark amber as it complemented the sour of the blueberries well. The eggs were perfect so much so that she was ready to salt them, but ceased upon tasting. They had perfect consistency, plenty of flavor and I wish mine came out as good at home.
Throughout the meal, the wait staff checked in on us. You could get the impression from other reviews here that the wait staff is perhaps too attentive, but is actually just right. At some point we attempted, naturally, to find fault with 1300 on Fillmore. The staff is fast and friendly, food amazing, entire restaurant decorated beautifully and tastefully, and it even has perfect chatter loudness level, allowing you to hear each other yet still providing that out-to-dinner experience. For a couple of New Yorkers with high expectations, this meal satisfied all-around. Go- you won't regret it!
Pros: food quality and quantity, ambience, staff, reasonable prices
Cons: neighborhood is a little sketchy

Came in the other night and the place was kinda quiet, as is the norm these days I guess. Too bad, the prix fixe is only $29.95 and you will be well fed. Had the split pea soup with ham, what a great soup for a cold rainy night. Then I got the Hoffman farms fried chicken....probably the best chicken I ever had, and I like chicken. Then finished with the apple and huckleberry crisp, all in all very satisfied. The wine list is pretty extensive and reasonably priced, with lots to choose from by the glass. Service is very friendly, and towards the end of my dinner the place started filling up, and it seemed like they were regulars. I will probably become one, too.
Pros: good prices, good vibe
Cons: none

the title speaks itself. This is a great place to hanging out after work. Great beers!! Don't underestimate their strongest beers, you might be knocked out after a few. While you are there, be sure to save some room for their excellment desserts. My personal favoriate is "Caramel Pot De Creme"

I've loved this restaruant ever since it opened in 2000. They offer a variety of well-crafted beers brewed on site, along with a great menu of contemporary American food. Make sure to try their sweet-potato fries!

While recently visiting SF, we found 2223 on citysearch and gave it a shot for our first night out for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find it quite the busy spot in the Castro District for drinks and dinner. We were promptly seated with our reservation without knowing the incredible treats to soon follow. For starters, the cocktails are STIFF and have fitting names like Twig and Berries, Mel's Manhandler, or the Mood Swinger. For dinner I ordered the Braised Colorado Lamb Shank with gorgonzola gnocchi and veggies. It was to die for! My date had the mushroom risotto which is also recommended. Dessert was even more tasty as we had the Apple Spice Cake and devoured every bite! The service/staff were exceptionally nice, the menu suits all taste buds, the wine/cocktails great, ambience is soothing and the prices are even better!
