Sigh. I really, really want to love 21A. It's fresh beer, perfectly acceptable food and only a block away... yet, there's something unsatisfying about it.
It's not the beer. Overall, the house made beer is better than average... if a little pricy ($4.75 per pint)... and they offer cask ale once a week. It's not the food either - the asian-style ribs I had as a snack were actually quite good, though I didn't understand why they served them with field greens. It's also not the staff- the bartenders there are friendly, efficient and overall pleasant to be around. They also started to serve guest beers from local breweries like Drakes and Speakeasy - a real plus.
I think that the problem is that everything just doesn't fit together properly. The bar is small, the restaurant space is industrial (but not in a chic sort of way), and you just don't know if they want to be a restaurant that serves its own beer or a bar that wants to serve food. There's nothing wrong about it, but there's something not quite right either.
Don't get me wrong - I've met Nico (one of the owners) and watched this place for years, and I love having this place in the neighborhood. Even if it's not inviting... and the beer and food is expensive... and it closes earlier than I want on the weekends and...

This is a great place to go any time for a decent burger and a beer. Try the locally brewed beer - its really good.The fries are alo great. They have a great selection of salads but I recommend the burger if you're going. Unless its a game night you don't neede a reservation. Offers a great atmosphere and decor. The waitstaff are very helpful and friendly.

I go to 360 Degrees Gourmet burritos about two times a month, and I always look forward to it. They have great shrimp, and shrimp and scallop burritos. You get a variety of tortilla types to choose from: spinach, plain, low-carb, etc, and they never skimp on putting too little shrimp in there. Overall, this is a really good, albeit not traditional, burrito place.

A16 has gotten rave reviews. I went there on a Saturday night and was not prepared for what a scene it was. We had reservations but still had to wait. The bar was mobbed and the tables are pretty close together. The food was good but not great. We will probably stick with the pizza next time. We had the broccoli rabe pizza which sounded great but the toppings made the crust soggy. Stick with the margarita pizza.

Like most other Chinese bakeries I have gone to, this one also came with a hungry mob of eager customers. You have to be aggressive and loud to get you order through to the baker. The service was awful. They were very impatient and acted like they did not want my business. The food there was mediocre at best.
