Steps of Rome is a WONDERFUL place to eat, have a beer, or dessert. The staff is beyond great! They are attentive to your every need and are always around to make sure you're having a good time! The chicken parmigiana is terrific! My daughter had pasta which she loved and her friend had pizza and said it was one of the best she's ever had! Yes, my daughter would love to marry the host in about 8 years but that's beside the point! HAHA!! Steps is truly a great place! The fruit filled sorbet is a refreshing dessert after a long day of shopping. The Company I work for will be traveling to SF this month and will definately stop by Steps of Rome!! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

This pizza place is pretty small, dimly lit, and cozy. The host told us that the wait was about 30 to 45 minutes. We didn't mind, because we had nothing else to do. The host let us pre-order while we wait for our seats. We finally sat at a table almost an hour later. The waitress was very pleasant. We ordered the 12 inch deep dish speciality classic pizza. The pizza came out pipping hot! It was soo good. When I first saw the pizza, I was like... euwh, it's full of tomatoes... where are the toppings? I was hungry, so, I took a slice and MAN>>> it was DELICIOUS! The pizza had the cheese as the bottom layer, the toppings as the next layer, and fresh tomatoes and sauce as the top layer. So, that's why I didn't see any toppings. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Our bill was about $23-$24 (including tax) for three people. I can't wait to go back!! The pizza was to die for and the service is great! What more can you ask for? yummy!!! OH, wait.. one thing... they only take CASH! NO credit cards.. but, that's not a problem. The food was worth the wait!!

We love this place. it's moderate to highly priced, but the food it top notch. Great selection of sushi and sashimi, and also delicious hot dishes.. I've had the sukiyaki many time. Best part for me is the selection of sake-based cocktails - get the ozeki and you won't be disappointed. Saw George Lucas here once so has some appeal

I'm a gay, high end, professional businessman from Las Vegas, and I've been coming to the Lion Pub for about ten years, every time I'm in the City. I certainly regret that the gay character (mostly gay, professional males who live in the area) has beem deminished over the recent years, but at the same time, I'm fascinated to see this "discovery" of a great bar by the apparently straight, female professional class (and there boyfriends), as if it was all something brand new. The Lion Pub was a great bar ten years ago, and I'm sure will remain so (under present ownership) for many years to come. It's fun to hear the Ladies rave about fresh ingredients (ambience, etc.), when many bars have been using fresh lemons, limes & pineapples for an awfully long time. Gee, Gals, you really do need to get out more. Fortunately for the Pub, the Ladies are so together & professional that they would never think to stay in a bar beyoud nine o'clock, thus giving room for the decadent fellas. I've little doubt, that if we get a female president (much to be wished for ), you girls will discover a whole new San Francisco openning up to you. The bottom line is, the Lion Pub is a small gem, and now that gem is known throughout San Francisco. We who love her, give to the City, the Lion Pub as a gift. Who knew?
Pros: Ambience, Bartenders, Service, Location
Cons: Happy Hour Often Too Popular

I love this restaurant. It is one of my favorites in the City. I also love French food and great wine and this place covers both bases very well. I love the romantic atmosphere in the restaurant and the indoor/outdoor area in the front. I think this is a perfect place for a really romantic evening. It is also located a bit off the beaten path, which makes it feel like a hidded gem. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I love this place. It has a wonderful homey atmosphere. Nothing beats the fireplaces and tarp ceiling on the second floor. You have to order the shorts ribs... the meat falls off the bone and melt in you mouth. Not only do they have great food, it's one of the few pet friendly restaurants. There is a semi outdoor seating area where you can dine with your furry friends. They even provide water bowls on the floor. How cute is that?

I went to La Provence for my dad's birthday this weekend. It was a great experience. The place looks like a simple cafe from outside so when we got there we were a little bit worried that it wouldn't be very good but there was nothing to worry about.
Everything we ordered was delicious and service was great too. We started by having a bottle of champagne to celebrate. All waiters wished my dad happy birthday and were very tentative. Since everything that I wanted to get was on a "dine about town" prefix menu i went for it. I really recommend it. It's a great deal.
We ordered appetizers. My parents got Veal Carpaccio,i had duck pistachio "rillette" all of it was delicious.
My dad really likes rabbit and its really hard to find restaurants that serve it. At this place they had Rabbit Confit ravioli. I tried his dish and it was amazing. I was afraid it'd be hard to taste the rabbit in ravioli but you can definitely taste it and it was very good. I had pork and my mom had Bouillabaisse and it was very good too. Boullabaisse had amazing sauce, it was creamy but not too heavy. Pork was very tender and had a great sauce with it.
For dessert my dad had oconut pana cotta and my mom and I got molten chocolate cake. Pana Cotta is usually very sweet this one wasn't too sweet and it was very light. Chocolate cake was served with creme anglaise. The cake was amazing. I usually don't like chocolate cakes but this one was amazing.
The portions were small but filling. Food wasn't heavy and we left very happy and satisfied. The place wasn't crowded but wasn't empty either. Parking wasn't too bad. The prices weren't bad for such a great dinner.
