high pressure sales staff, you know the deal. equipment was ok, didn't have enough of some gear, etc. My main complaint would be the cleanliness of the amenities, the whirlpool, sauna & steam room is a joke. They need to cleaned sometime this decade...There is a Jamba Juice in the facility, which is cool for a little after workout boost. They should consider guest membership for out of towners..Overall not a bad experience, but inferior to many others..

Anyone that watches Top Chef on Bravo will know of Tom Colicchio and his NYC restaurants. 'Wich Craft, in the Westfield Mall, is his newest venture, a casual restaurant serving mostly sandwiches and a few soups and salads. The location is huge and somewhat sterile, with high ceilings and two floors filled with tables. Iit was quite empty when we visited, but the place probably caters more to the FiDi lunchtime crowd.
I had half a goat cheese sandwich (filled with avocado, watercress, and of course goat cheese) along with potato cheddar soup. Both were actually pretty decent and the soup had a nice kick to it. One complaint was the sandwich was a bit soggy and made it harder to eat. The ingredients seem to be top quality and flavors were there as well. My friend enjoyed her grilled steak and shitake mushroom sandwich too. Now the pricing- about $9 for a somewhat smaller sized sandwich with no sides, but it was still a fulfilling lunch.

My favorite cafe to visit for Hong Kong style desserts. This place is tiny but the menu is astounding- there is everything you can think of on here, and more. There are hot and cold desserts - some with fresh fruit, sago, and coconut milk. You have dozens of options to choose from, what type of fruit, jelly (snow frog?) , coconut milk or sugar water. There are also some interesting sweet herbal soups on the menu, which are probably healthy as well. There is also mango mousse, tofu desserts, bubble tea, black sesame or peanut soup. It's all delish. Some entree items as well, such as ramen, "western style" spaghetti, etc.
Last time I visited, I couldn't decide on just one dessert, so I ended up with two!

I like the music they play, but I don't find the station very adventurous. I grew up in Davis, where we had a local independent listener-supported classical music station in the low end of the dial. I got to hear all kinds of things at all hours of the day. KDFC is owned by one of those massive corporate radio chains, the Bonneville Corporation - the ones who like to slap together a format with some cute soundbites and no DJs and just leave it running all week. KDFC has announcers, but no particular sense of adventure - they're like the Top Forty classical station. They do, however, broadcast a wonderfully cheesy radio program about kids in the musical arts every Sunday morning at 9, which is worth getting up early to hear. Downside: the stations commercials run to questions like "Are you living a three-car lifestyle with a two-car garage?" (Actual commercial, paraphrased.) Answer: No. You idiots.

I’ve been going to 111 for the last 10yrs. Can’t say enough good stuff about the place. It's been a hub of the art and music scene in SF since before I started going. They host all sorts of events: films, art openings, djs, bands, you name it. It’s constantly changing, and different every night of the week. Some nights are off the hook, and other nights are totally chill. If you show up on a packed night and it can be hard to get a drink Other nights are mellow and you can visit with the staff, who have been there for YEARS. (Getting to know the staff on slower nights can make it easier to get a drink when it’s packed- shhhhh!!! The ONE jerk that WORKED there is GONE!) Check their website or call to see if the vibe du jour is what you’re looking for...

This club opened up over a year ago in the Mission. There really wasn't a great place to see music in this part of town until now. 12 Galaxies brings in all kinds of music. I've seen some great shows here but I've also seen some very random shows here. The website is good and you can check out a calendar. The serve food, but no one comes for the food. Drinks are strong -- especially if you know the bartending. Parking is relatively easy in this part of the Mission. Not the greatest area to be walking around alone at night.

i went to 1751 Social Club last Friday and had a blast. Ther drinks were so good, and the servie was great. Not only was there dancing and a great DJ in the front room, but there was live Hip Hop in the back. the atmopshere is very relaxed and you can hang out with a large group of friends in your own corner booth or on the comfy couches. I definitely recommend going there on Friday nights!

This is a small independently photo shop. They develop pictures in half an hour which I think is rather quick. Their prices are slightly higher than a Walgreens or Target or even Costco. Just because the prices are highly, the service is faster and the product is better. When I need my pictures in a hurry, I take the film to develop here and they always manage to have my order done on time.
