Eastwind's slogan is "Best Source for Books on China, Asia & Asian Americans," and, try as I might, I cannot think of a better slogan for this bookstore. With a very wide variety of books covering different eras of Asian history, culture, and language, even the biggest bookworm will be satisfied in this store. Quick Tip: Like many other stores in San Francisco's Chinatown, you can bargain with them and talk down the prices of your purchases, especially if you buy several items on the same visit.

I first came to this book store because I was in need of a dictionary. I could not find one in the store, but when I asked the owner, I found out that they kept it behind the counter. They did not have a wide variety of dictionaries, and the quality of the dictionaries were not very good. The owner was not very polite or nice either. They do not have much of a variety of books, and the prices are outrageous. So I recommend you not go here unless you want to waste your money.
