5 things that Lost Weekend has that your videostore doesn't have.
-- All of Altman's out-of-print-yet-still-awesome 80's output.
-- A section dedicated to -- and including all of -- the Criterion Collection.
-- A deep and abiding love of baseball.
-- A copy of Robert Franks' underground Stones bio-ish-thing, Cocksucker Blues.
-- Rock and Roll, man.
I love them with my guts.

This store has a great, eclectic collection of videos and DVDs to rent. There are the new releases, of course, along with plenty of cult classics and a wide variety of other genres (just what you'd expect from a video store on Haight Street. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, but not judgmental. One of the little things that i liked was that their loyalty program (rent x-number of video and get a free rental) was automatic. No annoying punch cards. If you live in the Haight, you're lucky to have this as your neighborhood video rental store.

How awesome is a used record shop? It's like treasure hunting, recycling, and music appreciation all at once. Such good karma. Not that I have anything against digital media, but these records are already out there, a lot of them are classics that haven't been released on CD, and for the true music aficionado, even if you can't afford to buy everything you see, it's still interesting to know what's out there. This is what comes to mind while on a recent shopping trip to Recycled Records. Unlike with bookstores, it's just too overwhelming when there are a bunch of unorganized records in piles, so I appreciate the tidy organization… and there are formats here that aren't vinyl, but that's really where it's at far as this place is concerned.

It has most of hte new games and theres quite a lot of eb games in the city. Besides games, they also have accessories for your system and things for sale. It also has a lot of used games for people who don't really want to spend that much on the games. The price are reasonable and around the same as everywhere else.

One of the remaining, small, indie record stores in SF that hasn't been run out by Amoeba, Tower, et al. I go to this place for their standout used section. They do really low prices on CDs that have scratches or are missing their booklets, but play perfectly fine. Always something interesting to buy here. My roommate does weekly post-paycheck trips here and picks up all sorts of crazy gamelan and Afro pop and whoknowswhatelse to add to our ever expanding eclectic music collection.

One Stop Video rents all sorts of movies and films. They use to be a lot bigger in their selection. I guess competition with the larger stores do hurt the business. The owner is quite friendly and very cooperative in meeting your needs. Sometimes I seem to always go on the wrong day to rent movies, they are always checked out. I guess I should try to be the first in line when a new movie is released

I have always had good luck finding books I like at this store. Perhaps too much luck because I always leave away the poorer. I don't even buy the knick-knacks (sp?) along the line to the checkout counter, but a video here, a children's book there, and I'm always over budget. I do appreciate the employees though who are always helpful.
