The great thing about the Ferry building is that you can go there and even though the prices for everything are sky-high, a savvy shopper can put together a European picnic type meal here for not so much money that will be as gourmet and elegant as anything. So, while I wouldn't ever do any major vegetable shopping at Capay Organic (not on my current salary, in anycase), to go buy a few vegetables for a marketplace lunch (combine with cheese from cowgirl creamery and bread from Acme), or for that special, spare-no-expense meal, I couldn't think of a better place. Really though, paying through the nose for produce this nice – especially organic,community grown– is worth it, if you have the money.
Less
