Deep in the deserted hinterlands of Potreo Hill is one of the best live music venues in SF. This is the place to see the bands with the buzz just before they bump up to bigger venues like Great American, the Warfield and onward. The upside to the location is easy parking. There's nothing else doin' around here. Downside is, no public trans to speak of. Every so often they throw a Sunday BBQ, which is a can't miss event.

Chances are you'll never find this place. Located literally at the bottom of the hill, this bar/venue is a great hangout for small town stars and college kids. Be careful when you're following directions there though, it gets tricky. Both Yahoo and Mapquest get confused when getting you there, so its best just to take the closest street to the bottom and look around. Once there you'll see a big sign that says "If you want us to stay in business keep he noise down" because they are located next to a lot of apartments. They have a fun bar and for those under 21 unlimited water! Now that might not sound like much but when you're at other venues and the water costs $2 you'll know why it's good. The stage and the stage area are small but cozy. Behind the stage there is a outdoor area to hang out and smoke and next to that is the merch area. All in all a great find, if you can find it.
