Although the ambiance isn't as flashy as other sushi restaurants in the city, the sushi itself is the best! Very creative rolls and always, always fresh.

I recently came to this yummy resturant with a friend. It was amazing! We ordered the green bean tempura fries that were too die for!!! You must try the spicy edamane - I have never had it like this -very tasty. The fusion & soft shell crab rolls are a must try. If you like prawns - get the tiger prawns - they melt in your mouth!!! The drinks we ordered were super yummy - the cucumber limeade & the pink bubbles. It was so good that we decided to bring our friends & make it a girls night out place to eat and drink and be merry! I almost forgot - the dessert is amazing - the trio sorbets are very tasty especially the apple flavor....thinking about it makes me want to run over right now! this place is better than the other sushi places in the marina
Pros: food, friendly service, atmosphere
Cons: not open 24/7

Cheaper, faster sushi joint. Definitely not the best in the city but definitely not among the worst. Note that I am probably biased by the fact that my favorite sushi place in the city is right around the corner . . .
Pros: cheapish, conveniently close to UCSF
Cons: average quality food

I was really plesaantly surprised by this sushi restaurant. They have a sushi bar with the rotating sushi passing by you and also have sit down tables. You can either pick up pieces that go by you or order from the menu (which isn't just sushi, they also have udon and other items). I had a nice plate of sashi - very generous portion and tasted great, and a spider roll (also very good) and the dinner came to $30 including tip and soft drink.
Pros: great deal, good sushi, excellent menu choice
Cons: no high end sushi

Yo Yo's is wonderful. I'm almost always out the door for less than $5 - and often less than $3! The soups are great and the service is fast. They've been there since 1988 and I don't think they've eve raised the prices. I suggest the soba noodle soup with extra tofu.
Pros: Price, Food, Services
Cons: Takeout only

I moved back to S.F. from L.A. about six months ago. Anyone who knows L.A. knows the sushi is amazing. I have to say that I think Yo Yo is far better than anywhere I went in L.A. Eddie, the sushi chef, knows how to buy and prep his raw fish better than anyone I have ever met. His rolls are to die for and the place is so relaxing because it is not too crowded and the family atmosphere. These two character filled sisters own and run the restaurant. It is a great experience all around.
Pros: Family Atmosphere, Fresh Fish
Cons: parking

Who said sushi has to be expensive in order to taste good? I personally know the owners of this great establishment. I met them over 16 years ago when they were just starting out in the UCSF area. This particular restaurant is very small. It is always packed because of the excellent quality sushi they serve and very cheap. I love them california rolls with tobiko. They specialize in rolls. They have different types of sushi rolls named after football teams and baseball teams in the bay area. Fun place

I love this place!
I stumbled upon this little diamond in the rough over 3 years ago, & only one restaurant has ever come close to the quality & freshness that this restaurant offers. As you can see, even after 3 years, I'm still super-enthusiastic about this place! You absolutely have to try this Sea Fa1ry roll* with brown rice (* CitySearch won't let me say fa1ry with an i ... weird). I always request brown rice because this is the only place I know of that actually has that option ... it's a melt-in-your-mouth and/or fly-to-heaven experience that's too good for words. Try a piece without soy sauce or wasabi first to get a more accurate appreciation of the quality, & then you can add anything you like afterward. That's the way it should always be done with sushi so you know exactly what you're getting.
